The Roof, Monday Early Evening
Ino sat dangerously close to the edge of the roof, legs dangling off the side and every now and then she'd lean over just to stare down at the drop. She wished it was higher. The Eiffel Tower had a much better view, obviously, than the roof of the dorms.
She kinda missed that.
Most of the time though she just kicked her legs idly out in front of her and tried not to think too hard about anything. Except maybe her garden. Thinking about her garden was comforting. Untouched by the last week--except for her resolution to never have any statues in the garden ever. Comforting was good.
[Open as a roof is, yes!]

He was smiling, bright as anything, and it was obvious that the reason for the smile was also it's recipient.
"I don't suppose the lady would like a ride?"
no subject
Family.
"Lady?" Ino queried, glancing back over her shoulder, "I'm not quite sure who the gentleman is referring to."
no subject
"She of the golden locks, the enchanting smile, the eyes of blue sapphires..."
He floated onto the roof and dropped the broom to plop next to her.
"Should I go on or can I just say 'the best little sister ever' and get on with things?"

"Missed you," Ino said, still clinging, "and your smart tongue, honestly. Beauteous."
no subject
"I missed you too," he said, very very quietly. "and my tongue isn't all that smart. It cheats and looks at your answers, I promise."

He smiled right back.
"Because you know you wouldn't have anywhere to keep it."
He didn't know how long it'd been for her. He just knew that he could hold her, right now, and tell her ridiculous things and she'd smile. That was what was important.

She laughed softly, glancing up at him. "I could hang it above my garden. It'd be grand."

"After I figure out your broom, perhaps I'll try and get you a piece. Just a small one, mind. Enough to light up your garden at night."
He gave her a squeeze.
"But only that much. We wouldn't want to inadvertently darken the skies, now, would we?"

It was a long time before he spoke again.
"Care to go on a broom ride?"
no subject
"I'd love to fly again."
no subject
"Then it is my greatest privilege to take you up."
Beat.
"Hurry up, though, or it'll only be three barrel rolls before I let you steer."

"As the lady wishes."
At which point he pushed off from the roof and shot up into the sky.

This was fantastic.
no subject
No. He was on the broom.
He wanted to make her laugh with pure glee.

Here, in the air, she was relaxing in a different way than she'd done the night before just sitting with Kabuto's arms around her.

A looping barrel roll dove into a corkscrew down that almost pointed them to the ground before he swung the handle up and shot up into the clouds. Then he took them back down, the drop turned into a great swoop as he started swaying back and forth across the sky.

They sped over the island and he brought her to one of the beaches, dipping down till they almost skimmed the water before tipping the broom back up to the sky over the island.

Up near the clouds now, he rolled them along the whispy edges. It was cold, yes, but the sensation was like nothing else and it lasted as he brought them back down in another corkscrew.
