The Dorm Stairwell - Vaguely morning-ish

Cassandra led the way from the roof to the stairwell, still lightly holding River's hand. Just moving across the roof was a dance in itself as she spun her partner just a bit.

"Dancing on the railings" River had said. Cassandra beamed. There were six floors of them. This was going to be fun.

She turned to her partner in crime with a smirk. "Ready?"

[ooc: Cass and River will be dancing down the stairs. Anyone is welcome to find them on the way down!]

In reply River jumped up on the railing, balancing for a moment on one foot before swiftly moving downwards, legs swinging.

River responded with a small jump and turned to face Cassandra, shifting her weight from one foot to the other.

Dancing on railings was much better with a friend than alone. River did a backwards handstand, then returned to standing, balancing on one foot.

There were people-sounds, but they weren't coming from the common room. Intrigued, Anemone stuck her head into the stairwell, and grinned at the sight that greeted her when she looked up. "Did we decide the roof is passé for dancing?"

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
River didn't reply to that, just spun around on the ariling, hands outstretched, and laughed.

"That's obviously an oversight," she deadpanned, pulling off her shoes before climbing up to join them. "Without railings, it's too easy."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"With railings it's more fun," River replied, now balancing on one foot.

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Giggling, she spun a bit and took Cassandra's hand. "Always! People don't dance enough around here."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Have to inspire them," River said in agreement to that.

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Anemone let out a whoop as she followed Cassandra, moving easily down the railing. "Terpsichore in the stairways, that's us."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
River moving ahead of them spun around, laughing.

Fingers light woven with Cassandra's, Anemone laughed and swirled her skirt as she kicked one leg up. "How many dancers can fit on the banister, do you think?"

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
River took Cassandra's hand. "All depends on how fast we move."

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Show-off," she teased, twirling towards River to curtsy and offer the other girl her hand.

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
River took it and raised her arm to spin Anenome around.

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Anemone obligingly spun counter-clockwise before twirling closer to River and giggling. "Think we can learn to dance on the ceiling?"

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Gravity might pose a problem," River replied, then did another handstand.

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Gravity is a distortion," Anemone sulked, rising up on her tiptoes. "It's greedy, wanting to pull everything in."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"No gravity in space," River said, returning to standing on her feet.

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Maybe. I could teach you to dance in an LFO, if they ever let me back at the controls," Anemone offered as she lined up for a cartwheel. "Not enough room in the cockpit for actual dancing, though."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Flying is like dancing. I have a ship." She spun around.

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Flying is dancing is fighting is climbing trees," Anemone joked as she mimicked the other two. "They all feel the same to me! We should have a tea party on River's ship."

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"We can dance around the moon." River was walking on her hands aling the railing.

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Anemone just grinned, stepping off the banister and trusting her spacial sense to help her land on the next one and not crack her head open. She'd discovered this was a lot easier if she just did it rather than second guess herself. "Last one there buys ice cream!"

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
River decided to take her time. She had no objection to buying ice cream, after all.

[identity profile] death-of-hope.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"Cheater!" Anemone laughed, leaping from rail to rail as she chased the other girl downwards. "Curse your sneaky ninja-ways!"

"You need to teach me how to do that later."

Billy came in from a morning jog, and spotted the two girls. He gaped for a moment, then smiled. That, he thought. Is pure beauty.
