Laundry Room, Saturday morning-noonish

Sky was sitting cross-legged in a chair he'd pulled in front of the 3 washers he had going, reading a book and waiting for said washers to be done so he could dry his clothes, and his... somewhat-soiled bedsheets.

He was clad in only a pair of boxers and a tight red t-shirt.

No, he normally wasn't one of those kinds of people, but his laundry had piled up on him without him really noticing, and he found to his dismay that he didn't have any clean pants when going to change them after Eddie the seagull handwavily crapped on them. He'd been too irritated to handle the problem last night, so there he was this morning, washing his clothes.

In boxers. And a tight red t-shirt.

Hoshi walked in with her laundry basket because her mun can't resist. "Hi there," she said, giving Sky a funny look.

"Hi Hoshi," Sky greeted her with a smile, then looked down at himself. "...Yeah, I've been a little too pre-occupied to do laundry lately."

"I can see that," said Hoshi. "Usually I'll go out and buy something new before it gets that late." Then again, they don't use money where she comes from.

"That never even occurred to me," said Sky with a chuckle. "I didn't have any clean pants to wear whatsoever, so that wouldn't have worked with me." He scowled a little, already plotting revenge on Eddie.

"Yeah, that could be a problem," chuckled Hoshi as she started loading her clothes into an empty machine. "So, how are you doing?"

"Really well," said Sky with a smile. "The gun club is going on a paintballing trip this Thursday, and I'm thinking about going. I've never done anything like that before- I'm used to shooting with lasers and nothing but."

"Paintballing? What's that?" asked Hoshi.

"It's a combat game... of sorts," said Sky. "Involving shooting one another with, well, brightly-colored balls of paint. Safer than bullets, but messy. I hear getting shot with one of those can kinda hurt, too."

"Why don't they just use lasers?" asked Hoshi. "I thought they'd be around be now."

Sky shrugged. "Probably because they're more likely to seriously injure people," he said. "I prefer lasers myself, though. They're so much more versatile."

"But probably not as messy," said Hoshi. "The more I hear about this gun club, the more I wish I had signed up."

"I think they're still taking new members," said Sky. "I only started attending a few weeks ago, myself. They welcomed me in spite of that and the fact that... well, that it's technically Girls with Guns. I'm not the only guy there, though, thankfully. I've seen Romeo and Sokka there."

"I should look into it, then," said Hoshi.

Sky nodded encouragingly. "I think you'd like it. The club meets every Thursday at the range. I use my laser blaster, though there are some real guns there, too."

"I'll check it out," said Hoshi. "The end of the semester is right around the corner. Do you know what you're doing this summer?"

Sky frowned slightly "I haven't really thought about it," he admitted. "I'll be graduating, but after that... I just don't know. What about you?"

"I'm still trying to decide. If my family wants me to come home for the summer, then I guess that's what I'll end up doing. I haven't spoken to any of them since Christmas, except for my father," said Hoshi. "I wouldn't mind staying for the summer, though. We get to stay in cabins. I've never done that before."

"That does sound like fun... staying in the cabins, I mean," said Sky. "I'm not sure if graduates can linger afterwards, though. I wouldn't mind staying here for a while if I'm allowed to."

"I guess you'll have to wait and see," said Hoshi. "It's going to be weird, though. I know so many seniors who are graduating. It's not going to be the same without them."

Sky nodded. "I can't believe my time here is almost up," he said. "When I got here, it seemed so far away, and now it's so close..." He felt a strange twinge in the pit of his stomach when he reminded himself that the inevitable time he and Troy had to part was also drawing closer.

"The last few weeks of the semester always seem to fly by. At least, that's the way it felt last fall," said Hoshi. "But I'm sure you'll be back for homecoming in the fall."

"Definitely," said Sky, and the bad feeling in the pit of his stomach lessened when he remembered Portalocity, too. "Any chance I can get to come back here, I will. I'm going to miss the friendships I've made more than anything."

"You definitely need to keep in touch," said Hoshi.

"I will," Sky promised with a grin. "No matter what."

Jack walked in, bag full of clothes, clad in boxers and a tanktop. Er, Jack was clad in boxers and a tank top, the bag wasn't wearing clothes. "Aw, man, don't tell me there's a line for the machines?

"No, I'll be done soon," Sky assured him, not even blinking at Jack's attire.

"That's cool," Jack said. "Just out of clothes for the moment."

"Me, too," said Sky, standing up when the washers clicked off almost all at once, and starting to pile things into the dryer. "I normally don't let myself go til this late."

"I try to work on it, but...I don't have a lot of clothes for backup," he said, sheepishly.
