Fifth floor common room

It was finals season, which meant Willow was very happy. It was also Thursday night, which meant Willow was multi-tasking.

"I don't care what they say," she said in response to what she was watching on the television, "if you're a dancer you wear shoes you can dance in! It's your own fault if your silly boots knock you out of the competition."

[open, as common rooms are]

"This one," Harry said. There had to be some sort of horribly unhealthy salty snack food in one of these cupboards, right? "You?"

"Sort of. More of a 'I don't wanna blow up the TV' issue. Which is a choice, I guess." He was doing his best to stay far enough away from the TV. If it started going wonky it was entirely not his fault. Really.

"Technology does not like wizards," Harry said with a shrug. "Well, my kind at least. Don't know about any other types you've got around here. Sometimes stuff blows up. Or breaks down. Or does strange and inexplicable things."

"Magic users in general, last I knew. But then last I knew there weren't aliens running around and people didn't turn into little kids randomly. So I could be wrong. Or it might just be my kind of wizard, which is obviously not your kind if you've never accidentally blown up something electronic and expensive just by looking at it funny."

"Not so much a fear of the blowing up of things as a fear of the reactions of other people to the blowing up of things," Harry said. "Just never seems to end well. So I usually try not to get to close to anything too electronic, just in case."

"Not that I ever noticed." Harry looked down at his clothes and shrugged. "So nah, don't think so."

"The lights here haven't been a problem," Harry said. "...yet. I went through a lot of lightbulbs before I was here. And lots of candles. Computers I stay far far away from."

"Somehow I manage," Harry said, trying to sound very serious and probably failing.

"Uh, thanks I think. I do my best."

"Eh, it's not so bad. Never really used 'em so it's not like it's a huge loss, you know?"

"Did I say something weird?"
