Third Floor Common Room - Monday - Lunch time! (noonish)

Liir had quite a bit of time between his classes today. As such, he was spending it both studying and cooking, his tome from the Queen of the O.Z. propped up well away from the pan he was working with. It was nice to let his mind wander around on the concepts as he worked, his hands well familiar with all of the tasks involved even if he'd never made this particular dish before. That said, he kept having to look back at the page twice for each sentence. For some reason, it just seemed as if the words in the book were spelled wrong.

As for what he was making, it was, oddly enough, cheeseburgers. He'd had a bizarre craving for them since he'd woken up human again. The fact that he'd never actually had one before wasn't something he was going to waste time contemplating, but it was odd.

...as was the random bucket his whims had insisted on. What in Oz was up with him today?

With one final out of the way, Hoshi was looking for something to eat before she went back to studying. "Something smells good," she said. "Hope you don't mind invaders from another floor."

He pointed to the completed cheeseburgers.

"Um, thanks," said Hoshi, giving Liir a confused look. "Are you feeling okay?"

"Jus fine. Im not a kat en e more."

He grinned at that.

"That definitely sounds like a good thing," said Hoshi, still puzzled by Liir's manner of speaking, but at least his words made sense.

"Bean a kat wuz not so bad. It wuz especially nice on Katurdai 4 sum reason. But I got 2 spend tiem wif Andrew an relax. I only feelz badly 4 misin werk on Fridai an mah appointment wif Ino Sundai."

"Yeah, sometimes I look at my dog Porthos and think about how he has the good life," said Hoshi.

"I usd 2 has a dawg. Killjoy wuz pritee carefree 2," he said. "He wuz alwaiz smilin."

"They don't have finals to worry about. That's why they're so carefree," said Hoshi.

"Im not worrid bout finals. At least, not 4 enewon but Profesor Winchestr," he admitted with a wince. He'd have to see if he could find the man to ask for makeup work.

"You know, there's got to be some sort of extra credit for Fandom Invasions if you turn into an animal," suggested Hoshi. "It's Ethics that has me worried, personally."

"Wuts involvd in dat clas?" he asked curiously. "I nevr rly understood how someone cud teach dat."

"We covered the seven deadly sins and seven virtues," said Hoshi. "Professor Skywalker had some interesting ways of teaching them. For lust, we were assigned to take care of droid babies for a week."

"Pope Gregory the Great used a list of the seven deadly sins to teach his followers how to conduct their lives, but they also have been referenced to in classical literature," explained Hoshi.

"The pope was the leader of the catholic church. At least, there still is a pope and a church in this world. Where I come from, they haven't had once since before the third world war," explained Hoshi.

"1 leader?"

That sounded a little...circumspect. One leader? Why? Why not a council? There was one god (or fairy, depending on what you believed) but they were beyond humans. If you only had one human deciding on things for them, wasn't that a bit dangerous?

"Well, I think there was a point where they had two popes, but usually there's only one," said Hoshi.

"Y?"

It sounded like some sort of monarchy.

"I'm not really sure why," said Hoshi. "My tutors didn't seem to think that religious history was worth covering, except where it affected western civilization."

"Tutors?" he looked a little incredulous. "You had tutors?"

"I did," said Hoshi. "That's what happens when they decide that you're too smart for normal schools."

He chuckled.

"Nuthin dat will evr happen 2 me, Im sure."

Hoshi chuckled as well, despite being slightly unnerved by Liir's unusual diction.

"Can has cheezeburger," he reminded, pointing to the plate.

"Thanks," said Hoshi, helping herself to a cheezeburger.

Liir grinned and was happy to have one of his own as well. He reached over and, careful not to get any grease on the pages, closed his book.
