Third Floor Common Room

Liir was making pancakes.

He'd wanted pancakes, he'd thought Andrew might like pancakes, and it just seemed like a morning for, well... pancakes. As such pancakes (as well as a pan with eggs over easy and some sausage) were what he was making.

Plenty of, of course, since food invariably made other people hungry.

[ooc: open like a common room, especially if any 'budding families' would like breakfast]

"I'm not crying," Andrew said with mock defensiveness. "It's an eyelash," he lied.

He gave the little girl in his arms a gentle squeeze. "So," he said carefully, "do you, um, do you know how to spell your name?"

Asking her what it was outright just seemed wrong.

She gave her Daddy a flat look.

"Of course. T. R. I. N. D. L. E. I was named after the lady who saved Papa's life and the man who helped him escape. An' my last name is T. H. R. O. P. P."

She quirked her lips at her Daddy, much as her Papa did sometimes.

"I can name all the episodes of Galaxy Quest too."

"And what about Space Battles?" Andrew asked, huge grin plastered across his face.

This was all the validation he needed.

She looked mildly insulted.

"You got me all the Space Battles: Youth Corps books for my birthday. I've read haf of them. And there's only three Space Battles movies. Sometimes there's six, but there's only three real ones."

"Not only do we have a daughter," he said to Liir, "we have the smartest daughter in the world."

"Duh!"

That was really simple. Though she was glad Daddy was acting normal again.
