Willow had a bag full of crayons, markers, paper, glue, glitter, and other art supplies in one hand, and a wee daughter in the other.

"And this is the bestest common room that ever was," Willow told Melly. "There'll be plenty of room for us to draw here. Now help Mommy set up."

After dinner which is still being worked on lalala, Sam brought Maria back to the dorm in search of something that might sap some of her energy. He'd left Peter to talk with Nathan - most likely about him, and he was more than happy to be as far away from that as possible.

The two of them headed upstairs and checked each of the common rooms, and Maria ran into this one as soon as she saw it was occupied. Sam stayed back a bit and gave Willow a little wave.

Willow waved back. "Hey Sam! Is she one of yours?"

"Yeah," he said, unable to hide his smile. "This is Maria. Maria, this is Willow."

Maria smiled and waved, before getting distracted by the art supplies.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Maria," Willow said. She gestured towards Melly. "She's one of mine and Peter's. Um, my Peter, not - er- your Peter only that Peter isn't exactly y - you know these are very difficult conversations to have when there are wee ones present so I'm just going to say this is Melly."

Melly peered over at Maria. She recognized the voices and the names. Therefore she knew she had an important announcement to make.

"I am SO a princess!"

Maria recognized that name even before the announcement. "I bet you're not! Do you live in a castle?"

"Yuh-huh!" Melly said. "An' I have to curtsey and say my name proper an' EVERYTHING!"

Melly really, really had not inherited her older sister's love of such things.

"Really?" Maria said, suddenly in awe. "My daddies say I'm a princess but I don't have to do any of that stuff. Do you get to go to parties and wear pretty dresses?"

"Sometimes," Melly said. Her shoulders slumped. "Only Susie gets to stay longer 'cause she's bigger and it's not fair."

"Maybe Susie also knows how to act at a party?" Willow said, as a not unkind parental nudge. She reached over to stroke Melly's hair. "Why don't you show Maria how to introduce yourself? She might think it's fun, and you know Daddy would be proud."

Melly looked dubious about this being fun instead of being a lesson, but stood up and bobbed something like a curtsey anyway.

"Princess Melinda Lucille Rosenberg-Pevensie," she said. There was a soft murmur from Willow, which prompted her to add, "At your service."

Maria watched her, totally fascinated, and then stood up straight to face Melly and Willow.

"Marie Angelica Petrelli-Winchester," she said, mimicking the curtsy. "At your service."

Sam watched and grinned. "Great, you've made her even more lethally cute. Thank you so much."

"I can't help it if my daughter is contageious," Willow said. She gave Melly a hug to show her how proud she was. "That was a very good job, Marie. If I didn't know better I would think you were a princess too."

To Sam, Willow added, "Please tell me she's not named after Angel? Because he's very nice since yay soul but wow with the awkward role models."

Sam shook his head quickly. "No, she's named after her grandmothers. I don't think there's any universe where Peter or I are that crazy."

"And yet? Somehow you had a kid," Willow said, as though this was an effective conclusion about Peter and/or Sam's sanity. "Though I can't judge. Last time I had a kid with Seely. I don't care what she said, I still think she was one of the last people on earth and was just trying to break it to me gently."

"At least Peter and I are friends," Sam pointed out. "That makes things, well, quasi-plausible."

"Also very adorable," Willow said, since Maria was right there and it wasn't her fault that her dad wasn't a superior Peter. "Clearly she got your genes."

"Actually, I think she's got more of Peter's genes than mine," Sam replied with no small amount of smugness.

"I suppose that would've made the birth easier," Willow said, glancing waaaaaaaaay up at Sam, then back down to Maria.

Sam caught Willow's look and laughed. "Yeah, probably. Being around kids all weekend has made me feel even more abnormally tall than usual."

"Are you a giant?" Melly asked.

It was only because Melly was in no way related to him that he nodded and said, "Yes, but don't worry, I'm a very friendly giant."

Melly now looked impressed that Maria was related to giants. "You'd help my daddy? Not bad witches who give other witches a hard time when they're just trying to help?"

No prize for guessing if Melly had memorized that last bit from someone.

"I'd definitely help your daddy," Sam said. "That kind of bad witch sounds like she'd want to hurt people."

"And make it very hard to get people to enjoy winter, let alone perfectly appropriate and non-evil spells," Willow said. "Not that I'm bitter."
