4th Floor Common Room and Corridor [Monday, Afternoon]

Amy had been given Poe to look after for the afternoon. For the moment that mostly involved her running after him in his ball along the length of the corridor outside. She was being tailed by a long-suffering Miles tasked with 'keeping an eye on them', while Mac made reams of PBJ sandwiches.

Turned out there was a Poe back in their reality. Mac couldn't help but wonder if lemmings from space had special anti-aging powers. It was either that, or she became one of those parents that replaced pets and never told her children. Couldn't quite see herself doing it, though.

Then again, she also never saw herself having kids, so... Who knew.

Toru refused to eat anything replicated, so Hoshi brought him and Yoshiko to the common room to see if she could find anything else for them to eat.

"Oooh, PB&J," she said. "What kid won't eat PB&J? Right Toru?"

Toru blew a raspberry at her while Yoshiko giggled.

"Help yourself," Mac told them, piling another couple of sandwiches on the plate, before she offered it.

"I'm running out of kid-friendly food ideas already. This was sorta a last ditch attempt."

"Thank you!" said Yoshiko, her antennae standing up. "Is it okay, Mama? I've never had one of these before."

"Sure," said Hoshi. "What kind of world doesn't have... nevermind, I really don't want to know yet."

She smiled at Mac. "Thanks. These two have had really fussy stomachs and I've been running out of things to feed them."

"They don't look like from anywhere earth-like, so I guess that's not so surprising."

"Mine haven't been too bad so far..." Mac said, holding up her crossed fingers. "But, since I'm vegan, I don't keep much normal kid food around."

"They're half-human, or at least the part that comes from me," said Hoshi. "Yoshiko says her father was some planet called Andoria, and no one knows about Toru's father," she added, looking at her son's forehead ridges.

"All I can say is that it sounds like an interesting future."

"And I thought mine was looking pretty interesting," Mac replied with a smile.

At that point, Miles ran back in with Amy following about ten feet behind clutching the lemming. "Poe almost rolled down the stairs!" he announced, before he noticed there was food to be had and grabbed sandwiches. "You said you'd call when you were done."

Mac gestured to them with her free hand. "My progeny," she said to Hoshi in introduction.

"They're cute, in a very human way," said Hoshi, smiling. She set Toru down on the couch and started breaking up one of the sandwiches into little pieces for him to eat.

Mac nodded, watching Miles race away with a handful of sandwich, to jump on the couch to eat them.

She then lifted Amy up to sit her on the edge of the table so she could have some food too.

"Where they're from, it wouldn't go down so well if they were cute in a non-human way like your two," she said with a chuckle. Wow, that the 09ers in Neptune would make of that.

After buzzing around town for a bit, Sparky came back to the dorms to find her Daddy, but stopped in a few places first, just to look around. She waved to the big girls and kids her own age in the room and bounced in. "Hi! Do you guys know my daddy?"

Kristofer thought it would be fun to have his little sister chase him, so he came running into the common room, laughing, until he almost ran into a girl that he didn't know.

"Um, hi."

Storm skidded to a stop when Kristofer did and peered around him. "Hello."

"Hi! I'm Sparky, I'm a Winchester. Who are you guys?" Sparker grinned at the little girl, and tilted her head. "I'm eight, how old are you?"

"I'm Kristofer Storm, and this is my sister," he said, speaking up for her like big brothers do. "She's four and I'm six. What's a Winchester?"

"A hunter! Monster hunters!" Sparky was appalled this boy didn't know that. "Storm is a cool name too, though. My daddy kills bad monsters and my mommy helps and writes about it. I'm visiting him, he lives here in the dorm, but my mommy's not here right now. Is your daddy here?"

Storm nodded, still partially behind Kristofer. "Our Mommy is a powerful witch and our Daddy is a super hero. They both live here. They fight bad monsters, too."

"Oooo, magic? I love magic." Sparky grinned at Storm, and then at Kristofer. "Can you do magic? I met a boy who could grow really really really tall today!"

Johnny came walking in just then, knowing his kids had run from the room before he could catch them.

His eyes spotted them easily, and that of another little girl he didn't recognize. "Storm, Kristofer, what're doing?"

"Hi hi!" Sparky waved to the new big boy, and smiled brightly. "We're just talkin'. Do you know my daddy Dean?"
