Sirius Campfire, Thursday Evening

Classes were going great, so John was rewarded himself by chilling out in front of a blazing fire, attempting to make a fire pie grilled turkey sandwich.

There were moddable ingredients available to anyone who happened by the campfire, especially Sirius residents. Well, most Sirius residents.

[ooc: open like a campfire]

Blair had had what one might call a long day. Or a long week. Possibly a long life. But right now current events were the ones capturing her attention. So she sought out her fake big brother for flailing an explanation.

"What is UP with this island?" she said when she saw John.

[identity profile] gameknowsgame.livejournal.com 2008-05-16 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Don't start," Blair said. "The fashion teacher? Knows nothing about fashion. My Be The Best instructor is some kind of Canadian hillbilly. One of the students is a furry. The robots at Caritas smell and practically everyone here has a thing about performing magic tricks!"

[identity profile] gameknowsgame.livejournal.com 2008-05-16 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
"No, thank God," Blair said. Because yes, being bit would be awful. "And one of the so-called students. I think he's supposed to be a catperson, but saying so is insulting to cats."

Blair actually liked cats.

Chad, being a friendly person in a....vague sort of way, waved to the new girl that he recognized from his fashion class earlier that day.

Blair looked up... and up at the person who waved at her. She recognized him from fashion class.

"So what's your opinion of the teacher?" Blair asked, with a tone that made it clear it would be extremely difficult for Blair's opinion of the teacher to be lower.

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-05-16 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. Usually people started a conversation with introductions, but Chad could be okay with this, too. He shrugged, though. "She's okay," he said. "I had her last semester for cooking."

And he was getting free clothes just for being her teacher's assistant, so Chad really couldn't complain too much. If at all.

[identity profile] gameknowsgame.livejournal.com 2008-05-16 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
"For your sake I hope she knew more about cooking than she does about fashion," Blair said. She felt introductions were unnecessary because it was up to other people to do the work to know who she was.

Andrew plopped down next to John, briefly rested his head on his friend's shoulder, then peered closer at what John was making. "Can I snag one of those?" Eating hadn't really been high on his priority list today.

"I don't mean to take food from you," Andrew said. "I can make my own. I mean, you are letting me sleep on your floor."

"It is surprisingly comfortable," he said. "And it's rated for subarctic temperatures."

Hey, look. Campfire. And a little brother.

"Hey, John." Chad lifted his chin in greeting before finding a seat on what looked like the sturdiest log. "How goes it?"

Everyone else got a lift of his chin in greeting, too, if they wanted it.

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-05-16 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm good," Chad grunted with a nod, very purposely avoiding saying that he didn't have any complaints. He did. A few of them. But John or anyone else really didn't need to hear about them. "What've you got? And this your cabin?" He jerked his head a little toward Sirius. It was hard to tell, really, because it could have been, or John had just come over here from another cabin like Chad himself had, and he hated to assume.

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-05-16 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Chad grunted slightly. As a whole, he wasn't exactly fond of either of those subject. Fighting he liked to avoid and he hated flying, although, in his defense, he'd only flown on airplanes, which wasn't usually pleasant for a man of his size, and through giant cannonballs of spirit energy that had a habit of exploding on impact. Those weren't exactly all that great, either, although he'd admit they were more fun than airplanes.

"I got the one about fashion, the one about mad royals, and the defensive dancing one," Chad said, realizing that his, while interesting and useful, didn't sound nearly as cool.

Jamie wandered back to the campfire after... wandering.

He definitely had a bamboozled look to his face.

"Hi," he said to the campfire. And he blinked. "Um. Hi."

[identity profile] multi-madrox.livejournal.com 2008-05-16 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Jamie blinked and looked at John as if he saw him for the first time.

"Hey."

He blinked again.

"Has anything ever happened to you and you suddenly wonder exactly how it worked out that way?"

[identity profile] multi-madrox.livejournal.com 2008-05-16 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
"I think I have a date tomorrow," Jamie said scratching his head. "But I'm not sure how that happened. There was talk of shirtlessness. Pantslessness and then... Date."

He looked at john with a confused expression.

"By all rights I should have been smacked."
