Draco Campfire, Wednesday Evening

No doubt, she mused idly, Turtle would say that she should be more confident and go and sit at other campfires rather than at her own.

Hinata rather figured she was being brave enough for the moment though, after yesterday, and with a little shrug settled down in front of the merrily blazing fire she'd started up. The things she needed to make s'mores beside her. S'mores were good enough for her right now. Rather than more bravery.

Not that she'd mind some company, but it was a bit to... effortful for her to seek it out. If it came to her though, she'd share her s'mores.

[Open, of course!]

"...mean?" Turtle said, after taking a moment to explain it. "I don't know, he's just...he makes me feel like he doesn't really want to teach, or that he's really bad at it, which seems contradictory for a guy teaching a course on being the Best You Can Be, you know?"

"No reason to take it out on the students, though," Turtle said. "He actually pretty much told me that he wasn't going to bother being teacherly, so..."

"Well, he did have us divide into two groups: ones who can take a beating and ones who can't..."

"To a certain degree, sure, but, on the other hand," Turtle argued lightly, "there are more delicate ways to do it other than being all, 'Okay, kids, now, those of you who can take a beating, come over here so I can wail on you in future classes. All the rest of you, go over there, where you can feel like a useless piece of defenseless crud.' What about those of us who are in the middle? I can get where he's coming from if it's about know what you're good at, but, I mean, I'm not the best at taking a beating, but I'm also not defenseless. I'm in the middle."

Turtle made a light, non-commital sort of noise, and then shrugged. "I guess. Still don't like him." It's only been one class, though, who knows?

"Definitely," Turtle said, head bobbing. "Without a doubt. I've had him for a few other classes and he's amazing. He oh-so-handwavily helped get me some stuff for college and everything. I do have Mister Jim this semester, as well, and he's fun. Different, but fun."

"It's where you go after high school so that you can get a better job. I'm going to go to Harvard, which is one of the best schools for law, which is what I want to go into."

"Well, some jobs you can, but not the good ones," Turtle explained. "Those require a bit more education, especially if you want to do it really well."

"Well, graduating at twelve is irregular for me," Turtle pointed out, hoping that this wasn't going to degenerate into a whole schpiel about the fact that, hey, different worlds, in case you haven't noticed, different rules bit like it did that Temari girl.

"Not that I would have minded," Turtle added thoughtfully. "But most people won't bother with a twelve year old lawyer. Even if she was brilliant and experienced."

"Well," Turtle said, "I have worked an official trial before, so, sometimes, it doesn't matter here, either, but, you know, what can you do?"

Turtle grinned. She meant it as a rhetorical question, but that was one darn good response. "Exactly," Turtle said, nodding firmly. "Good one, Hinata."
