Lupus Campfire, Thursday afternoon
Sokka had never heard of "jazz hands". That didn't stop the three beret-wearing hamsters from trying to teach Momo Jr. how to do it. Sokka wasn't really sure how to handle his pet's newfound love of expression through dance, so he just sat and stared blankly at the little show.
Eventually, the quartet of rodents took a break from dancing to do the backstroke in the ashes of the campfire (which, thankfully, wasn't lit).

"That's... different," she remarked. "Guess you didn't teach them that?"
no subject
Sokka: mesmerized by the hamsterdance.

"Hope they don't get to Poe, too."
... Yeah, not gonna happen. Way too much emo in that lemming for jazz handsing.

"My lemming. Looks a little like that," she said nodding towards the hamster. "But with less dancing... And cuter."

When she came back, she was cradling her conga line contribution.
Poe was not impressed. Not that you could really tell that, he looked just like he always did.

The hamsters took off their berets and waved them as part of the dance; Momo Jr. tried to copy them, but just looked silly without a beret of his own. Silly, and CUTE.

She looked at Poe as he eyed his route off her hands, towards the floor and perhaps the sweet end he had desired for so long.
When he made a beeline for that, he was of course stopped by Mac who moved her hands so he'd just keep running until she lowered him to the ground. He didn't dance.
Looked like death was not on the menu today.
Sucked for Poe.

He was currently fixing the hamsters and Momo Jr. with a glum stare. Poe was obviously not feeling the jazz hands.
"I think he likes them," she determined. After all, to her it just looked like he was watching them, mesmerized like everyone else.

Mac arched an eyebrow and nodded. "That's probably me... Mac," she added.

"And it's Mac, short for Mackenzie," she corrected, glancing over at Poe again to make sure he was still playing nice. "Similarities to guys in computer ads, completely unintentional."

Two of the hamsters were still jazz-hands-ing with Momo Jr., but the third was holding its beret in one hand and a stick in the other, and was trying to engage Poe in a call-and-response tap dance.

Mac snickered, "Should hope not."

Poe didn't really have much to add other than a baleful look. It was probably good he didn't understand. Although, he probably couldn't get much more emo.

Well, it was true. He'd barely changed in the last year as far as she could tell.

Okay, now Rikku was staring at the dancing hamsters.
".... Dude."
Really, she didn't have any other words at the moment.
no subject
Really, no other words were needed.
The hamsters executed a perfectly choreographed twirl -- which Momo Jr. flubbed horribly -- and kept dancing.
no subject
"How come you're not dancing?" she asked.
Seemed a fair enough question.

... And a chinchilla. No offense, Momo Jr.
no subject
Now would be a good time, too -- Momo Jr. had been doing the jazz paws all wrong, and the hamsters were demonstrating it all over again.
no subject
Now was the time to Hamster Dance. With Jazz Hands. And -- well, she had no beret, but she worked it anyway.
no subject
Sokka was NOT going to let that stand, so he got up and shook his thang, too. With the jazz hands. "Go Rikku! It's your birthday! Go Rikku! Go Rikku!"
no subject
"It's not my birthday."
