Cygnus Campfire, Sunday Evening

Toby liked camping Fandom-style. He could sunbathe by the campfire when it wasn't raining, and lounge about in the air conditioning when it was. Either way, there was little to no reason to wear a shirt.

Of course, no matter what the weather brought, life wasn't perfect and he and Kevin were through. Toby sat in front of the fire pit not bothering to hide his red-rimmed eyes with dark glasses.

Mostly because he thought glasses made him look less hot.

Lee hadn't been out much during the summer, choosing mostly just to stay inside. He wasn't a fan of camping.

Tonight, though, he was taking a walk around the cabins when he came across the shirtless guy.

"You okay, there?"

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Not too badly," Lee said, nodding. "You a new guy?"

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Only because I haven't seen you before and it's a small island," Lee said, taking a seat. "Unless you've just been hiding really well."

Far be it from Chad to skip out on a campfire happening at his cabin, so he drifted outside, setting Prince Oscar Pedro down on the ground so that the little hairless cat could enjoy all the outdoor space while he went to have a seat on the sturdiest looking log. He lifted his chin with a grunted "Hey" toward no one in particular, just anyone who'd want it.

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Prince Oscar Pedro had taken a sudden leap into a nearby bush. A second later, he came tumbling back out, shaking his head. Despite the rather forceful squirrel he had encountered inside that bush, he leaped back into it a second later.

Chad, meanwhile, always glad to have Prince Oscar Pedro complimented, preened a little. It didn't happen often. Maybe this guy just wasn't getting a good look at him in the campfire light or something. "Thanks," he said. "His names Prince Oscar Pedro Neko-kun."

Pause.

"The Third."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Usually Neko-kun," Chad shrugged, "because he likes Japanese best, but everyone usually just calls him Oscar Pedro or Your Majesty."

Ella gave him a tiny wave, watching the creature. "Oh, is that your cat?"

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Chad lifted a hand in a motionless wave back and nodded with a grunt. "Yup. That's Prince Oscar Pedro Neko-kun."

Pause.

"The Third."

Who was currently trying to eat grass. Chad didn't seem too concerned. Just as long as it wasn't chocolate.

[identity profile] ella-obeys.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Ella rose slightly and bobbed a quick curtsy in the direction of the grass-eating prince. "You can, of course, tell he has royal breeding."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Chad nodded, but then said, "It's possible. I got him at a shelter, so it really could be."

Ella hadn't really done anything all weekend; more accurately, she had spent it being homesick and avoiding the rain. So when she ventured out Sunday evening, she was pleased to see there was at least one campfire with people around it.

The question that came to mind was Aren't you cold?, but she settled instead for the neutral, "Hi."

[identity profile] ella-obeys.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
It had been a nice lei.

"You're in my vacationing class, aren't you?" she asked. "I didn't introduce myself properly last time. I'm Ella."

[identity profile] ella-obeys.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know," Ella admitted. "I was hoping for someplace exciting, but the mannequins and the ducks weren't quite what I had in mind."

Alice noticed the dark glasses on the boy by her cabin's campfire, and stopped inquisitively.

"Are you all right?" she asked, rocking onto her heels and back to her toes again.

[identity profile] notyourpawn.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Alice didn't notice any dark glasses, since he wasn't wearing any. But she did stop by to inquire, because such things happened, even without magical narrative-reading powers.

"I'm all right, I suppose," she said, now that they'd cleared up that whole glasses mess. "Is this your cabin as well? I've been horrible about meeting my cabinmates thus far, I fear."

(WOO, I can't read.)

[identity profile] notyourpawn.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
"One guy?" Alice asked, rocking onto her heels again and raising an eyebrow. "You don't mean Chad, do you? He's rather tall but very sweet. He's technically my supervisor, now; he hired me to work at his music store."
