Second Floor Common Room - Early Sunday Afternoon

Meg was attempting to relax on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and a gangster movie. She was having a little trouble thanks to Sparkles. One second the little robot was sitting on the couch next to Meg, the next he was flailing around with weetiny albino monkeys on his back. Meg thought the monkeys just wanted to play. Sparkles thought they were trying to kill him.

"Quit your whining. They're not going to hurt you," Meg said to the wee!Transformer. "Now, shush, I'm trying to enjoy young Al Pacino."

[Open, yes]

Jack slumped into a chair, waving hello.

...stupid monkeys. Hair is not a plaything!

Jack waved back again. Apparently, this was seen as an invitation for the monkies to start swinging off his hand.

Jack did not flail, even though he was not a swingerthing.

"Your robot has a case of tiny monkeys," Dawn noted as she took a seat on the couch and reached for the popcorn. "Ooh, which one is this? I always get them confused."

"When was Al Pacino hot?" Dawn frowned at the screen. "He looks really short."

"Okay, maybe I can see that," she decided, tilting her head as she watched. "They also wore real shoes and hats. Weird, right?"

"So this entire movie could have been fixed by flip-flops, baggy cargo shorts, and hair product."

Dawn blinked. "Okay, ewwwwww."

"It can't be my fault, because I forgot Marlon Brando was in this," she argued.

"I almost met the guy who kind of inspired this movie," Turtle chirped knowledgably, not long after slipping into the common room for something to eat and checking out what Meg was watching, which was cool enough, she decided, to warrant talking to Meg, even if she was evil. The top spot on Turtle's hit list had gone to someone else now, anyway, and, no, not the little monkeys, although they were getting close. She gave up on trying to shake off the one who was clinging to the back of her shirt right now.

"Remember those angel statues?" Turtle asked, reaching for a granola bar but, at the squeaking protests of the monkey on her back, went instead for a banana. "They sent people back in time? Well, I was just starting to work for the mob when I was told to go to London to get sent back here. If I'd have stuck around? Oh, man. True, I started in Chicago, but I was on the fast track to becoming big enough that I could have hit up New York, too."

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Turtle shook her head. "Nope. I was strictly a behind-the-scenes girl. I was working on trials and cases and things, trying to get the right people off for a bit." A smirk blossomed on her face. "It was awesome."

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Turtle shrugged a little, breaking off a small piece of the banana and holding it over her shoulder for the monkey, who eagerly took the offering. "Sometimes," she admitted. "Usually too busy to really miss it, though, and, besides, it might not be mafia specific, but I'll still be in a courtroom in the future, so I'll be happy."

Turtle's expression went slightly dubious, eyebrows lifting. "Might want to watch, then," she said, "that little evil streak of yours. Breaking and entering, glittering people's property."

Not that Turtle ever held grudges or anything; don't be silly.

"Not mad," Turtle said, with a slight shake of her head, "just not willing to let transgressions be entirely forgotten, is all. We learn from our mistakes," she added sagely, "lest we forget."
