Second Floor Common Room [Tuesday Early Afternoon]

The facts were these: Ned was baking a pie again. He'd almost tried to theme this particular pie with that of a volcano but the volcano was long gone and so was that idea. Ned didn't really want to simulate lava in a pie anyway.

He'd chosen a new recipe this time, something he'd never baked before and had set out to prep and cook in the common room.

He wouldn't call this a routine yet but it was relaxing. And it was nice to get out of his room and do something besides annoy himself with all his issues.

[Open common room is open. Work is boring. I am hungry.]

"What if I can't come through?" he asked, trying not to sound nervous about that.

"I'd have to make my sad face," she said, looking pathetic.

"And I've already seen that," he said, shaking his head. "I'll come through."

It felt weird to say that and mean it.

"Promise."

"Lucky me," she said, brightening.

"Wanna stick around, wait for the pie to finish with me?" Ned asked. "We can watch tv."

"Oooh, TV." Kaylee's eyes went huge and she grinned. "Sure."

"Come on," he said, nodding to the couch where he took a seat. "It'll be done in a bit."

"Yay!" Kaylee cheered, moving over to hop onto the couch and get comfortable.

Ned clicked on the television and made sure to keep an eye on the pie, an eye on the television and her. She was sneaky.

Good sneaky though.
