The school grounds, all day
Not all the beasts were creatures of the land. One was a creature of the water (and a fairly disturbing one at that).
The scylla settled into the pond, through a magic all her own disappearing completely from sight under the water. The only hint to her presence was an odd ripple on the pond's surface.
[ooc: for those who want to have an encounter with a scylla!]

...Ino was a bit of a moron sometimes. Here, trouble trouble trouble.
She passed by the pond and paused. What was up with the water rippling like that?

"'Morning!" she chirped, gun in one hand, a few kunai in the other.
Because, clearly, the monster would care.

"Oooooh, scary," Ino taunted it. "Come on, be more of a challenge!"

Owww.
"Better," she gasped out, informing the monster, scrambling to her feet, taking aim at one of the heads with her gun and pulling the trigger. "But I'm not going down so easily."

Scared by the sound, she reared, her six heads screaming in unison at Ino.

Ino backed away, eyes wide with mingled excitement and fear now, shooting at the monster a few more times, and hoping that--somehow--these would manage to hurt it.

But she'd won. Ha.
Ino bounced off towards town, in search of more monsters.

She reached for the water, pulling it to her before she bent it around her body, sending a thick flow back at the monster, splitting it to try to hit each head right in the face.

It was painful, even if the scylla didn't exactly know words like "brainfreeze," and it succeeded in making her mad. Another head swooped in to snap her teeth at Katara, as a paw swept up from underwater to swipe at her.

"Ow," Katara picked herself back up. Fine. If that's how it wanted to do it. She concentrated hard and froze all the water in the pond. "Let's see you hit me now, huh?" she snapped.

The scylla snarled again, trying to crack the ice and shrieking from the cold.

Georginathe scylla slipped under the water. "Shoo! And don't come back please." She paused. "Unless you bring my boyfriend...person."no subject
Heyyyy. The water on the pond looked kinda weird. Rikku hesitated by the edge of it, peering in to see if she could make out what was down there.

GeorginaThe scylla erupted from the water, heads reaching out for Rikku on instinct.no subject
She aimed a punch at the nearest head, wondering what the heck this thing was and hoping it wasn't, uh, some strange mascot she just never noticed before.
Like Georgina, the school pet!no subject

... Said the girl who punched first, and all.
She aimed her fist for the creature's midsection, Godhand slashing out.

Georgina looked appalled! How would she ever fit into the Vera Wang now!The scylla roared, swooping out of the water higher and whipping her tail in Rikku's direction.
no subject
She was helping! Getting rid of those nasty love handles! She might have gone down a size or two!Ewwww, gross. Rikku hopped out of the way of the tail, mostly, but the edge of it connected, and some of the ucky pond water sludge whatever-it-was on there got in her face.
"Oh, that's just nasty," she announced.

She considered blocking with her Godhand, but what if it could bite through Godhands? No letting scary psycho mermaid-things eat her legendary weapon, here.
She dove off to the side, tucking herself into a ball and rolling. Wondering if she could make a grab into her leg pouch for explosives. Or just something that'd hurt if she threw it.
