Second Floor Common Room, Monday night

Gladys was making sandwiches. She'd read somewhere that food was a good way to welcome new people. The island had new people, and so they should be welcomed.

Golem logic. Golem sandwiches, on the other hand...

She had two loaves of bread and a ham, which she assembled -- bread, ham, bread. Then with one huge and heavy shovel-like hand, she pressed down, flattening it. Her sandwich was several feet square, and about an inch thick, and she began slicing it into squares.

Perhaps it might not be quite as welcoming as she intended.

[ooc: And the sandwiches are actually canon]

Romeo now looked as if he wondered if Sokka were actually mentally challenged. "It's cold. With ice," he said. "In July."

"Of COURSE it's cold!" Sokka replied. "It's ANTARCTICA!" He threw his hands in the air. "It's... brisk! And refreshing!"

"It's 20 bloody degrees!" Romeo said, inaccurately, and pouted. "I should be home, in California. It's hot there..."

"If it got warmer, houses would melt!" Sokka countered. "Sure, go back to California, with your palm trees, and your... Hollywood, and your... Governor Schwarzenegger..." So he didn't really know much about California, okay? "All I'm saying is, some people LIVE at the South Pole. And like it!"

Romeo liked palm trees and Hollywood, actually, and his player had no idea if his world had a Governor Schwarzenegger or not.

"Then they're welcome to their iceberg," he told Sokka, still sounded slightly affronted. "What, is it your home?"

"YES!!! I was BORN at the South Pole, I lived most of my LIFE there, and it's really a pretty awesome place to live!!!"
withoutverona: (Greetings from Verona)

"Then you can go live there!" Romeo suggested, possibly not entirely helpfully. "It's right next door."

Sokka shrugged at him. "But it's cold out."
withoutverona: (laughing)

Romeo blinked at Sokka.

And then started laughing.
