In between bites from a giant sized bowl of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs, Ron would be seen smashing the keypad of the remote in an effort to find something decent to watch.

Eventually he settled on the BBC and watched in horror as two British women attempted to clean what had to be the most disgustingly dirty house he had ever seen.

"Bloody hell. That's actually someone's carpet?"

Perhaps eating food while watching this show was a bad idea.

Jen blinked. "You don't know?"

"I sneezed and wound up here," Viki explained. "Which is really terribly exciting for a place to end up but I don't know how it would match up."

The perils of being a time and space teleporter. Viki was nearly always lost.

"Sneezed?" echoed Jen. "What happens when you have -- never mind."

No need to give the poor girl a neurosis.

"Nevermind what?" she asked curiously. "And, yes! Sneezed. Sometimes when it happens I wind up teleporting."

. . . huh. "It's not something you do consciously?" Jen asked. "Because with allergies that could be a problem."

"I'm a teleportation specialist!" Viki said brightly. "But, yes, sometimes sneezing hits and I wind up elsewhere without controlling it."

"I hope you can get back at least," Jen said. "Because that might be kind of hard to explain to your teachers."

That got a blink.

"Teachers?"

"Well, yeah," Jen said. "Although around here, 'Sorry I missed last week's class, there was pollen and then I was in Denmark' would actually work pretty well."

"These are the first teachers I remember having," Viki said, confused. "Why would I need an excuse to them?"

Jen wondered if her social skills were still sadly lacking in the conversation department. "I meant . . . if you missed class or . . ."

Put her on the shooting range or facing off against a criminal one-on-one and she'd be fine, but social situations still made her break a sweat, most of the time. It was kind of sad.

That got more blinking.

"...they care if you miss class?"

"Some of them more than others, but yeah." Jen wondered if she'd just been assuming, and imposing Time Force Academy regulations on this place all along, so the answer was less than definitive-sounding.

"Oh."

Viki seriously considered that.

"...what if I forget?"

Jen flailed a bit for the appropriate response. "Well . . . maybe they'll go easy on you the first couple of times?"

Boy, would Captain Logan and Alex have yelled at her if she'd ever said something like that to one of the rookies.

"Oh," Viki said, looking slightly worried. "I hope they don't mind. I forget things often."

"Well," said Jen, trying to at least be vaguely reassuring, "I don't think they'll come down on you really hard. It'll be okay. Really. People could help you out with that. I could, if you want."

"When you forget things," offered Jen. "If you need it, that is."
