Project Runway was on. Of course Peter was in front of a TV.

He was also riding the merry-go-round that I just modded into the common room to make the OCD inventory threads explode, MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ahem.

So... yeah. Peter, on a couch, watching the awesomeness that was Tim Gunn.

"Sorbet?" Peter suggested.

"Do you know how to make that?" Ella queried. "I can cook, but I wouldn't have the first idea."

"Which is a shame. I like sorbet."

"I... go to a place that sells it and ask," Peter admitted. "But there's plenty of folks here who know how to cook. We could ask them?"

"Maybe one of them will volunteer rather than see all the fruit go to waste," Ella decided.

"Or we could ask them nice," Peter said, giving a look to indicate how he could throw himself on the mercy of someone with cooking skills.

Ella considered the look, feigning dispassion. "I'm half tempted to try to make sorbet now, if you give me eyes like that," she admitted.

"Sorry," Peter said, putting the look away. "I've had a lot of practice."

"I wasn't complaining," Ella said hastily. "Why were you practicing that?"

"I'm a little brother," Peter said. "It comes in handy for when I need to get my way."

"I'm an only child," Ella said. "I don't think my younger stepsister uses that look on the elder, but she has other ways of getting her way."

Which mostly involved being dumb and making people feel sorry for her.

"I try to stick with what works," Peter said. "So you don't consider your stepsister family?"

"Her mother only married my father a few days before I came here," Ella explained.

"Guess that makes sense," Peter said. "Do you miss getting a chance to bond with them?"

Ella shook her head slightly. "We were at finishing school together for a year before our parents wed." Her tone suggested that had been trial enough. "What is your brother like?"

"He's the best," Peter said, his face immediately lighting up. "He's a teacher here, if you want to meet him. Nathan Petrelli."

"He taught networking, didn't he?" Ella said, recognizing the name. "There were so many other interesting workshops I didn't get to that one."

She flashed a quick smile. "It must be nice for you both, having family on the island."

"I love it," Peter said. "It sucked when he was back in the city. Now I can see him whenever I want."

"Which city>" Ella wondered. "I'm from Frell, in Kyrria, but no one here has heard of it."
