[The Deck, Friday Night]

After the radio broadcast, Bumblebee made his way downstairs and onto the deck. Shifting into car mode, he settled in with sensors alert to make sure that no jets would be approaching the dorms without his knowledge and (hopefully) interference.

While he sat, he sent a brief message on a priority channel to Optimus - nothing more than an alert for now - and then sent another elsewhere. Maybe nothing would happen, but if something did, he would be ready.

Ahahahaha like Sam was sleeping after that radio broadcast and after getting a voicemail confirming that radio broadcast? As if.

Instead, he was out on the deck in his PJs, saying, "Hey," to a mini-Camaro.

Bumblebee flashed his headlights briefly in greeting. "You should be sleeping," he said after a moment, more concerned than chiding.

Sam just snorted and lowered himself to the deck to sit beside Bumblebee. "Yeah, like that's gonna happen."

"I don't really think that Starscream would come here, much less for a a convention," he said quietly, in an attempt to reassure him. "Perhaps they made a mistake?"

"Maybe," Sam said. "They say some pretty crazy stuff on the radio," he observed.

"And I am just being proactive," Bumblebee said. "Tomorrow I will go make sure. If nothing else, I am curious about this 'Robocon'."

"Do me a favor?" Sam requested. "Be careful. Be real careful."

"I will, Sam. I won't do anything that isn't necessary."

Sam wasn't actually sure he liked the sound of that, considering the amount of wiggle room, but it was late, and he was punchy, so it didn't fully register. "Yeah. Okay. It's probably just a stupid radio mistake, anyway."

"That was my thought," he agreed, trying to sound cheerful. "How are you, otherwise?"

"Tired. That Bond guy is a sadist. You?" Sam asked. "You're not gonna turn into a girl again, are you?"

"Your physical education class," Bumblebee noted. "I had no plans for it. Being human is... an experience, but something I don't want to be distracted by right now."

"Yeah," Sam confirmed. "Good. Weird radio aside, I like you being you, y'know?"

"You don't think it would be easier if I were human?" Bumblebee asked, only a little cryptically.

"Some things would be, sure," Sam mused. "Like when we first came to the island and you didn't know you were going to, you know, shrink." Sam? Still kind of dim. "But...like, would you still be you if you were human? Things would be really different."

"I would be me." He sounded rather confident in that, at least. "But I don't know how to be human at all - and you would be out a car. I don't want to disappoint you or Mikaela if I can help it."
