Helen had a whole selection of fashion magazines spread out in front of her and was currently boggling at them. Surely people didn't really wear things like this. And this. Or well... this insane thing.

Eve wandered out to the common room, one of her grimoires open in her hands as she walked. No real reason for poking through the book, she was just feeling productive today. Actually productive, not the scary "this is going to lead to trouble" productive, which meant that she was updating entries.

And if she could be social at the same time, more the better.

She noticed someone else and smiled. "Hey."

Helen looked up and, in her customary quiet and subtle way, said demandingly, "Do you wear clothes like this here?!"

Eve sat down near Helen and leaned over to look at the magazines. "No, I don't -- though those sandals there are pretty cute," she said, tapping one magazine.

Helen nodded, mollified a little. "These things are all insane! How am I supposed to get ideas of what to wear from insane things?"

"Well... at least you know what not to wear," Eve offered. "I think you'd be better off looking at the other girls around here if you want ideas of what to wear. Magazines can be a little extreme."

Or, y'know, a lot.

Helen sighed. "Dawn suggested I look at some magazines to get ideas, but I thnk perhaps I do not have the right ones."

"Well, there are a lot of magazines," Eve said. "Might just take a while to find ones that would work."

Helen sighed. "It might be easiest if I just went and looked at what clothes were available and decided what I like then."

"We do have Pixie Dust on the island," Eve said. "It's a clothing store that's got all kind of cute stuff. And it's fashionable, too." Because really, you couldn't go wrong with that combination.

Helen nodded. "Perhaps I will have to stop in there."

After not actually sleeping (or, for that matter, being in the room) the night before, Sam staggered into the common room in search of coffee in order to not sleep some more. He wasn't sleeping until he knew what was up with Starscream being on the radio, oh em gee.

"Oh, hey," he muttered to scary roommate. "I hope Mojo didn't bother you last night. I kinda forgot about him."

"I would have made him be quiet," Helen said after a quick glance up. "And he knew it."

Sam somehow doubted this, since if Mojo couldn't tell when giant robots were annoyed with him he probably didn't get the message with humans, but hey, as long as he hadn't bothered Helen. "Good, that's good," he said without looking up from a staring match with the coffee maker in the kitchen area. "I was outside. If you wondered. Not that you probably did, or you know, cared, but I'm just saying, that was where I was, I was outside, and if I mysteriously disappear before Monday one of the convention attendees has probably murdered me in retribution; could you make sure Mojo gets back to my parents?"

"Excuse me?" she said staring at him. "Yes, I noticed you were gone, but - wait, murdered?"

"Uh, yeah, well, it could happen," Sam said. "So if it does, you know, send Mojo home, tell my parents I loved them, that kind of thing?"

Helen put her magazines down and turned to face him fully. "Explain. Why would someone kill you? What is going on?"

"Okay, so uh, you know my car, Bumblebee?" Sam asked. "I don't know if you've met him yet, anyway, he's here, and he's kind of a giant robot from another planet? And there's another faction of robots, they're the bad guys, the Decepticons. And they were after this thing called the Allspark that I had the coordinates to 'cause they were on my grandfather's glasses, and long story short, I kinda destroyed the Allspark and killed the Decepticons' leader, Megatron. And. One of them is apparently in town. So uh yeah, I might be about to die." He shoved his hands in his pockets and shrugged. "You know. A little."

Helen was shaking her head, "No, that is not acceptable. You must tell someone in authority. Or at least make sure that you stay here where there will be lots of people around to watch out for you."

"No," Sam said, "I don't want to drag anybody else into this, okay, Starscream is dangerous. People could really get hurt. Bumblebee's gonna check it out, and I'm going to keep my head down," except he had work on Sunday heh, "and this convention thing will be over before you know it."

"Then I will watch out for you," she said firmly.
