The salle - Sunday afternoon

Ichigo have been lazing about for far too long. He needed to train, but the kind of training he had in mind wasn't really possible right now. Perhaps tonight, when his room mate was sleeping and he could leave his body without anyone noticing he was gone.

In the meantime he decided to check out the salle. He looked over the practice swords, but none of them came even close to Zangetsu - his zanpakuto, a sword all Shinigamis carried - in his unsealed form. He did find a wooden katana sword and deciding that would do for now, he picked it up.

It was strange feeling the wood in his hands. There was no connection with the blade and Ichigo wondered if maybe this was pointless. He was here now, though, so he might as well get some training in.

Practice sword in hand, Temari entered the salle for her spar. She nodded to the boy already there and looked around for Jaina.

Ichigo stopped mid-step, lowering the sword for a moment. "Hey."

Jaina arrived not long after with her practice lightsaber, still weirdly wired thanks to the fun of time lag. "Hey," she greeted her.

Jaina'd come for her sparring session, but she gave a little acknowleding nod to the boy who was already there.

Looking him over again more closely, Temari nodded again. "Hey."

"Hello," Temari said with a small grin. What? It had been some time since she had a fight.

"Should I be worried you're smiling?" Jaina asked with one of her own.

"Only if you hold back," Temari replied with a much larger grin.

"That won't be a problem," she assured her. Everything was considered training right now, after all. "Need time to stretch out?"

"Only if you need to," Temari replied, twirling the sword. She was nowhere near as skilled with this as other weapons, but she could do well enough to not die for the most part.

Perhaps he should have thought up a reason to be practising with swords. It would be hobby, that worked fine. Ichigo stopped, leaning the wooden katana on his shoulder. "Hey," he greeted. "I didn't realise this place was popular."

Okay. Ichigo studied her just as frankly as he tapped the flat of the blade against the side of his leg. "Here to train?" It was a rather stupid question.

It was, but she was willing to ignore that. "Here for a spar."

"Nah, I'm good," she said, watching the twirling with interest and bringing her own weapon up. It nearly looked like a toy, with a long plastic blade, but it still wasn't anything you wanted to get hit with, especially not hard. Apparently Jedi worked with a Did that hurt? Then don't get hit mentality. "Okay, then if you're ready..."

He changed his grip on the sword and nodded. "I'm going to assume it's not with me unless I already managed to get in trouble without realising it." It was possible.

"Not unless it's a very convincing henge," Temari replied dryly. "Her name is Jaina."

Jedi and ninja had that one in common. The excellent advice of 'don't die' was well known.

Temari grinned and darted forward, slashing down at her head.

He didn't know a Jaina. "I'm Ichigo."

Giving him another quick look, she turned away to practice. "Temari."

Wow, she did not mess around. Jaina raised her blade to block, moving quickly to try and get a slash in at the other girl's ribs.

"Depends on the week, I think," Jaina admitted. "Half the time I come down here, it's just me."

Moving back quickly--but not fast enough to avoid the hit-- Temari grinned. No chakra in this. Just old fashioned fighting.

"You're fast," She said, touching her side. It would be an interesting bruise.

"Gotta be," Jaina said, keeping her guard up. "You okay?"

Smirking, she moved forward again, this time from the side, sword coming up to catch her on the jaw. "Asking about your opponent's well-being?"

That was something Jaina hadn't been expecting, and not a mistake she'd make again. Not taking the time to even acknowledge that she'd been hit, she said, "Bad habit," and swung to try and hit her in the hip.
