Front of the Dorms, Wednesday Afternoon

You could almost get nostalgic about a thing like this.

Kerrigan stepped down from the ladder so she could admire her handiwork. "I'll be here to pick you guys up in a couple of hours," she told them. She wasn't smiling this time-- that was a change from the last. "Or when you resolve your differences. I'm listening in, so don't try anything stupid."

She'd picked a nice spot for them, though. Not in any way harder to spot, but at least this way they were relatively safe from any rain that might fall or fog that might mysteriously become rabid. Fandom flora could be useful like that.

"I hope you both had lunch."

"Frak off," Lee added.

Ronan just opened up his mind a little bit more, projecting to her exactly how much it was, in fact, rather hilarious.

Look at it from my perspective, he told her.

To Lee, he said, still chuckling, "I'll be gone in a minute. Seriously. But what happened?"

River could look at it from Ronan's perspective, but she chose not to. "He was annoying. I beat him up."

"You saw me in the clinic," Lee added. "This is punishment."

"... This is why you were in the clinic?" Ronan asked. "River beat you up." He paused.

Wait for it.

"Aaaahahahaha." Ronan broke out into laughter once again. "So who's punished you by putting you up there, then? Professor Kerrigan?" Hey, he remembered who'd been by to visit that day.

"His fault!" River insisted. "Kerrigan doesn't want me to beat him up though." She hoped Ronan would understand her. He is annoying. Don't get distracted by the arms.

"Yeah, I'd like to see you fight her," Lee said. "You'd end up in the same place."

Well, they are very nice arms, Ronan sent back, giving them a quick glance to refresh his memory of them.

"You'd be surprised," Ronan told Lee. "Well, I'd probably still end up in the clinic, but I might be able to get her there with me."

Fighting Fomori for a year -- with swords and spells -- gives one a pretty good sense of how to hold one's own in a fight.

"Have no reason to beat him up," River told Lee. "Besides, he can dance."

She smiled at Ronan, despite her awkward position.

"You had no reason to beat me up either besides me asking for it," he said. "And you'd still end up in the clinic. That's what counts."

"Well," Ronan said, clarifying, "I said might. I'm good, but I'm not that good."

Giggling again, Ronan moved towards the door. "Well, it was a pleasure to see you both," he continued, "but I do need to get on with my day. River, I'll see you later?" Let yourself get distracted by his arms, he added to her, silently. It might make the time go faster.

River gave Ronan a wide eyed look. "Can't do that!" she said out loud in reply to the comment in her mind. However, she did throw a reluctant glance at the mentioned arms.

"Thanks for the visit," Lee said sarcastically. He shook his head and just continued hoping that time would speed up.
