Camp Gym: Sunday Morning

Seeing Worf at the gym beating the crap out of the punching bag is not a surprising sight.

However a hyena that appears to be using a small dumbbell in its mouth to exercise?

Well, okay it may not be surprising in Fandom but it is certainly odd.

Liir came in a little earlier than usual for his weekly appointment with Ino. As he'd gotten there first (ha! even though it was pretty evenly matched for who got there first or second, he always felt good when he got there before her), he started in on his stretches and warming up. Seeing Worf, he gave only a nod.

Seeing Cal... that got more of a headtilt before he waved to the transformed teenager.

Once he was done with that, though, he started in on his stances from last week.

Worf returned the nod and continued to beat the crap out of the punching bag.

Cal let out what could be a bark of greeting but it is tough to tell with a dumbbell in the hyena's mouth.

Liir was happy to leave him to the punching bag. That thing got him too riled up to be good for him.

Instead, he worked on the stances, making sure he had everything smooth and exact. It said something to how much free time he had now that they were almost to the same level as the rest of his stances.

He considered heading over to Cal, though, to ask him how he felt about being a hyena.

Cal would most likely have plenty to say about being a hyena.

If he could speak English.

"Ribbons are kinder," Ino grumbled as she wandered over to her brother and giving Worf a filthy look.

He waved off the two of them and smiled at Ino as she made her way in.

"I'm all set to go when you are," he said.

Ino was... grumpy. At the other two.

"Do you think ribbons are worse than letting him exercise like that?" she asked.

"I don't think either of them are particularly bad. He doesn't have to exercise. And I didn't mind the ribbons when I was a kitten.

"Then again, most people don't enjoy being transformed as I seem to."

He looked at her for a moment speculatively.

"Something the matter?"

...as I facepalm over the icon and wonder how I picked that one.

"Nothing's the matter," she said grumpily. "But at least I wasn't letting Cal do something that could hurt him."

"Do you really think he could get hurt doing that?"

Beat.

"Well, any more than he could get hurt in general?"

"How would I know?" she asked crossly. "But I'm pretty sure hyena's don't do that usually, and that's definitely a bigger chance of him getting hurt than anything I did to him."

"More than likely," he agreed, mostly because he didn't see any point in disagreeing. He didn't know either way.

"But there's not much we can do about it for the moment."

Sick of getting lost running around the island, John headed into the gym to make good use of the treadmill. Before he could get on the machine, the sight of the hyena stopped him in his tracks. "Do I even want to know?"

"That is Cal," Worf replied between punches. "He is currently an animal."

Yes. That is Worf once again stating the obvious.

"No, really?" John rolled his eyes. "Though, it is kind of right to see him working out."

"He insisted," Worf replied looking over at human-turned-hyena. "He led me here this morning and immediately went to the free weights."

"I can't wait to see him attack the treadmill," John snickered as he set himself up to get started. "What kind of animal is that, anyway?"

"I believe it is a hyena," Worf replied. "Or at least that is what my research led me to believe."

"Huh. Does he laugh like a hyena?" John could see the resemblance to the Disney movies. Maybe. "I hear the laughing's a dead giveaway."

"I have not heard him laugh," Worf replied. "But he fits the parameters of a hyena."

"And you say that I'm mean to him," she said, scowling at finding Worf in the gym.

"He's the one who brought me here and I'm letting do as he chooses," Worf snapped. "I am not humiliating him and taking pictures of him."

"And I'm not the one who is potentially letting him hurt himself," she snapped right back. "Bravo."

"He's not a child," Worf snapped back. "And he's spent more time in the gym than you have since he arrived. Again HE'S the one who wanted to be here and is choosing his own activity. Now unless you have anything remotely interesting to say leave me alone."
