Now that classes were finished for the semester Liz had taken the opportunity to contact Professor Broom about spending the next week at the BPRD while there was a break between classes. It had been a while since she had visited home, asthe last time had been at the start of the summer semester.

Once she was finished with the arrangements she came out to the campfire, she had a new book on the paranormal that she wanted to finish reading and she decided to spend some time outdoors.

Elegant Emu was one of the few campfires Toby could find without thinking. Not that he'd like, thought about it, but he wanted to find it, that was the point.

"Ooh, is that a romance?" Toby asked, indicating Liz's book.

"It's about the paranormal," Liz explained.

"So like, scary stuff and freaky monsters?" Toby asked, taking a seat as this could be interesting.

"Pretty much," Liz nodded, "it's pretty common where I come from, or at least to some people it is,"

"Oh yeah?" Toby's eyes widened. "We don't have that kind of stuff. Just like, magic that can bring people back from the dead."

"Magic?" Liz was rather curious, "we don't have magic as far I'm aware, is that common where you're from?"

"Well, like only certain people can read it," Toby explained. "Like my BFF Van, she's all magical and shit. It's pretty useful sometimes but really freaks me out when she just plays with it."

Liz nodded, "only a small amount of people know about the paranormal where I'm from," she said, "I never knew about it until my guardian took me in nearly a couple of years ago," she still couldn't believe that it had been that long.

"Aww, you like, have people who take care of you and stuff?" Toby asked. "That's totally sweet. I lived with a bunch of other gay teens in a hotel." Yeah, it was hot like that.
