Third floor common room - tuesday after classes - 9/16
Liir stared at the television.
The television stared back.
A couple of flickers of light at the curved corners itched at his eyes, at the back of his brain, but he ignored them to finally flick the damned thing on. His conversation with Tony the other night had made him think a bit and since the television was just disconcerting as opposed to being outright tik-tokish to his sensibilities, he thought that perhaps he could bend on this one strange piece of technology.
What was on that channel didn't appeal to him, and so he flicked around for a while before finally coming upon something that looked interesting.
Liir flopped onto the nearest couch, grabbed up a pillow to hold in his arms, and watched with rapt attention as the man in the funny hat was chosen to cook...
Oh my.

"How are you, Molly?"
Obviously he was paying attention to her, but his eyes were on the screen.

He finally turned to give her a smile.
"I think I might have to recant my opinion on televisions."

He laughed a little mostly to himself.
"They tend to make me uneasy."

"There. The way the light can flicker off the glass. For some reason, it sets me on edge."
It reminded him of the glass ball in the Witch's tower.

He looked over to Molly, glad of the break in the cooking program.
"How have you been, Molly? I haven't seen you for a time."

"Anything I could help with, on the adjusting? I don't suppose so, considering, but I figured I'd offer."

"I'm used to a flock of monkeys around. Which, granted, isn't the same but was on the whole a great bit noisier."
He shrugged.
"I've gotten to enjoy it."

He leaned back.
"Can I get you anything? Tea or something to eat? My room isn't far."

"The way he's using the peppers. He's using them to accentuate the sweetness of the meat and tempering it with a bit of spice to keep things interesting. Simple pepper," he grinned "white pepper, I mean, from peppercorns, at least as far as I can see. I like his proportions, how he's putting the dish together. I'd probably use a different spice, I think, or add something to it, but the simplicity has merit as well."

"It's the only thing I'm really good at. Best I love it."

"Usually by feeding them," he pointed out with a brief smile, not minding the swat.
