Fifth Floor Common Room, Thursday Morning

Jeff would be lying if he said he wasn't just a little bit afraid of his girlfriend right now. Which was exactly why he'd parked himself in the common room, wearing his Vote T.R. Wexler for Sophomore Junior Class Representative t-shirt, supporting several flags calling out for much the same in his hair, and...

...eating from a very large bowl of crisps while trying to focus on the TV.

He really was kind of scared. If she lost, he'd... he didn't even want to think about it.

Turtle found Jeff in the fifth floor common room, and decided she could manage a break. She let out one of the biggest sighs ever as she dropped down onto the couch beside him. "Ohmigosh," she gushed, "campaigning is hard. work."

There was a pause as she glanced over. "And you're wearing the shirt!"

"I know," Turtle said, with a faint, tired smile. "It's still just good to see it."

She leaned over, shoulder against Jeff's slouching figure, and, a bit too late, said, "I'm gonna just lean on you for a second, is that okay?"

Turtle, getting comfortable, let out a great big sigh; it was necessary so that her body and brain could stop for a second and realize that, yes, it was okay. It was time to relax for just a wee little bit. It started to get the hint and she smiled a little. "Anything good on TV?" she asked, glad for five minutes of just not thinking about campaigns.

"Were they the cute, little monkeys?" Turtle asked, shifting a little again, easily, comfortably. "Or were they the smart monkeys that they try to always teach to do human things? Or big ugly gorillas?"

"Typing out the works of Shakespeare?" Turtle wondered, hopefully, as she reached for the bowl to take a handful of the proffered popcorn. "You always here people talking about monkeys doing that, but you never actually see it."

"What do you mean?" Turtle asked, frowning as she realized she didn't get it. "Sort of like Shakespeare?"
