Around the dorms - All day Thursday

It had taken Harvey a little time but after some thought, some input from others and listening to Toby's broadcast last night, he knew just what to put on his campaign posters. After making a couple for each floor he started from the first floor and worked his way up, taping them to the walls.

He was also wearing a t-shirt just in case someone wanted proof that he did indeed look good shirtless.

Somehow he didn't think this tactic would be helpful in Gotham politics.

[Feel free to find him around the dorms. We'll just assume he and Turtle keep missing each other. I have to do it today because omg it's my birthday weekend coming up.

And, yes, you can ask him to take his shirt off]

The posters amused Romeo, especially when compounded by the radio broadcast. "Is everyone from our class running on a platform of shirtlessness?" he asked. "And why are they all men?"

"Shirtless is what gets votes, it seems," Harvey admitted with a smile. "I don't know why we're all guys. It's a damned shame though."

"In faith, the girls could even run on a damp t-shirt platform and they'd get votes," Romeo said. "We need to convince them to do so. Ah well, at least the male shirtlessness should make my girlfriend happy."

"See, and making your girlfriend happy is what is important," He said. "I'm Harvey, which you probably already knew."

"Romeo," Romeo said, somewhat sheepish. "I usually don't start talking about shirtlessness before I introduce myself. Were you new this term?"

"I don't usually talk about shirtlessness to strangers either. But it seems to be everybody's platform this year," he said. "I am new. Hence the, uh, sort of desperate attempt to get people to know me."

"It doesn't count as truly desperate unless bribes are involved," Romeo told him. "I wish you luck, anyhow. I'd never have the stomach for student government."

"It can be tough," Harvey agreed. "But I'm considering making it my career so I might as well get started now."

"Politics?" Romeo was intrigued, though he would never do it himself. Diplomacy was not so much a Montague value. "Any particular reason?"

"Yeah. The city I'm from, Gotham, it's sort of criminal infested," Harvey said. "The mob has a lot of power there. I want to get in the system there and help clean things up."

Romeo decided not to ever tell Harvey who his family was, and he didn't, exactly.

"My home's much the same," he said. "Unsafe streets, gunplay at gas stations, all of that. It goes back to old feuds; I don't know if it could be changed."

"There's always room for change," Harvey said. He really did believe it too. "You just need the right plan and the right leaders and, wow, I'm laying it on thick, aren't I?"

"Perhaps," Romeo said. "You have my vote, anyhow, unless one of the girls runs on a pro-shirtlessness platform."

Harvey snickered. "I won't blame you for voting for her. I would too."

Missed each other to a certain degree, anyway.

Turtle stared a moment at the other poster.

"Oh, thank God you're a senior," she found herself remarking to the guy putting them up, her shoulders sagging with exhaustion and the weight of apprehension. "I don't think I could compete with shirtlessness."

That, and it seemed like the first poster she'd seen that didn't have the word 'junior' on it and that in itself wanted her to just hug this Harvey Dent guy.

Harvey smiled. "You running too? What class?"

"Junior," Turtle said with a smile, shifting all of her campaign materials so she could offer out her hand. "Eager peon to the senior class in the hierarchy that is student government. T.R. Wexler, better known around these parts as Turtle. Hopefully, we can look forward to working with each other this year."

"I hope so," Harvey said, shaking her hand. "I've heard about you on the radio. You seem very determined."

Turtle winced slightly, hoping that Harvey wasn't referring to last night's broadcast. "Determined is definitely an appropriate word, although I really hope I come off as the good kind of determined, and not the psycho hose beast kind."

"No, no, I don't think you're a psycho hose beast," Harvey assured her. "Just determined."

Turtle breathed much easier, smiled brighter, and nodded. "Good," she said. "Because I'm not. You're right, just determined. And also pretty good at what I do, if I may say so myself without sounding totally pompous."

Or jinxing herself.

"I think being slightly pompous is a requirement when you go into politics," Harvey joked.

"Slightly sure," Turtle couldn't help a small chuckle. "Everything in moderation, though, right? Have to be careful not to overdo it."

"Exactly," Harvey agreed. "You want to be confident but you also don't want to come off like a jerk."

"Is it safe to assume," Turtle asked, "that your knowledge of presentation suggests knowing just a bit more than a thing or two about politics?"

"I've ran for student council before," he said, smirking. "And I kept a close watch on politics back at home. I want to be involved in the government in my city somehow when I'm older."

"I've won a trial before," Turtle offered, with a faint grin, hoping to maybe impress. "And I do, too. Want to get into government somehow, although I'll admit that the prospect of business law has been catching my eye recently."

"Hey," Amber said after eyeing the poster with a smile. "We haven't met and I think I should know a little about my fellow classmate if I'm going to vote for him."

Harvey grinned. "Okay, I'm yours. What do you want to know about Harvey Dent?"

"Whatever Harvey Dent wants to tell me to win my vote," she replied with an easy grin. Then she stuck out her hand. "I'm Amber."

"Nice to meet you, Amber," he said, shaking her hand. "Well, I guess I'm running on a fairness platform. I want everyone to be equal. No group should be more important than another because of money or because they're older."

"Very nice," she nodded, agreeing with him so far. "Judging on monetary value alone has never been fair." She should know. "Do you plan to make any changes with the way our class is currently run?"

"I haven't exactly been around long enough to know how the system is run so far," Harvey admitted. "But I would like to see more group activities. If we get invaded as much as people say then I think it'll be good for us to practice working together."

Amber loved that idea and her instant smile showed how much. "That's excellent. We could use more group activities that get us all together. Invasion can definitely be a problem."

A beat.

"I have a boyfriend, but your poster is very nice, Harvey. Seeing you shirtless will most likely have me voting for you."

"Well, you can just take my word for it," he said, smirking. "Don't want to be ticking your boyfriend off."

"Yes! I was hoping you would say that," she said, grinning. "That was an excellent answer and you have my vote! I wouldn't want to see you shirtless, I mean I would, if I didn't have a boyfriend, but I do, and it's nice because I doubt there are many guys out there who would refuse to strip, even if it meant an ass kicking." Not that Cal would ever, in a million years, kick ass. Amber just didn't see it.

Harvey grinned. "Thank you, Amber. If you are ever single again then I will gladly take my shirt off for you."

"Thank you, Harvey, I can't say as I look forward to it," she chuckled. "Do you have a button, flag, anything that will declare my support?"

"I do, actually," he said, taking a handful of buttons out of his pocket and handing one to Amber. They just looked like smaller versions of the poster. "Thanks for your support."

She pinned it on, next to her Turtle one. "You bet, and oh, hey.. I'm headed to the diner, you want me to stick a poster up for you there?"

"Oh hey, yeah!" Harvey said. People were so nice here. He handed Amber a poster and a roll of tape. "Thank you."

"You bet! It was nice meeting you, Harvey. Good luck!" With supplies in hand, Amber turned and skipped away.

Toby took one look at the posters and shouted, "Oh my god, that bitch stole my idea!"
