Third Floor Common Room: Monday Afternoon

Jamie was still in his bathrobe when he shuffled into common room. He was not in a happy mood as he talked in a disgruntled manner into his cell phone.

"Seriously, Ric. I don't see what's so important to get me out of bed on a Monday afternoon," he groaned and fumbled with the remote. "What channel am I supposed to be looking at? CNN? What's on C-?"

Jamie stopped as the image flickered on.

For on the screen was a duplicate of Jamie Madrox.

Naked.

Bungee jumping.

"And in Colorado this morning, a young man decided it might be fun to do a little bungee jumping," the newscaster said in an amused tone. "In the nude no less. The local sheriff's department arrested him after the jump for indecent exposure and is currently sitting in a jail cell waiting for a bail hearing."

"Well you don't see that everyday," Jamie said after blinking a few times. "I wonder what possessed me to do that?"

The reply from the cell phone obviously did not agree with Jamie because he quickly clicked it off and settled down to watch himself jump nude off a bridge.

Claire wandered into the common room to find coffee. There was none, and she grumbled as she found the filter and grounds.

"Morning," she said, sleepily.

Then, as she looked at the TV, she added, "Is that guy naked?"

"Yep," Jamie said with a nod. "And bungee jumping. I guess that's one way to cool off."

"Wouldn't the harness hurt?" Claire wondered, making a face. "Ugh, guys."

She gave Jamie a tiny smile as she started brewing the coffee.
"No offense."

"None taken," Jamie said hoping Clair didn't recognize the guy on the screen as being him. "I... I've done many many stupid things. Like that."

He was not looking forward to gaining the memory of the harness.

Claire had vaguely registered the guy on the TV had a similar body shape, but no more. "Yeah?" she asked. "Were you drunk, or did you just lose a lot of bets?"

"It's the afternoon," Agnes pointed out. "But yes, yes I believe he is."

Claire blinked, then glanced at the clock on the common room wall. "I overslept," she informed the girl. "Or, I dunno. Is it oversleeping if there's like no reason for you to get up?"

"Well, no, of course not," Agnes told her with a soft smile. "I didn't mean to imply that... I'm sorry. I just thought maybe your clock was broken, or soemthing." She turned a little pink. "I'm Agnes, by the way."

Claire blinked a few times. "Sorry, I get grumpiness issues before I have coffee," she told Agnes. "It's cool. And I'm Claire."

Agnes walked into the room and stared at the television. And then at Jamie.

And was absolutely NOT wishing that the television weren't blurring certain bits of the image. Or turning bright red.

"Do you do things like that often?" she asked. It was the only thing she could think of to say.

"Define... often," Jamie said with a smirk. "You mean like everyday? Once a twice a week or... Yeah, I do those things often."

Agnes gave him a smirk. "And something tells me you were sober, too. You're a very... interesting person."

"And you can tell that from not even knowing my name?" Jamie asked. "You're good. Or telepathic. And if you're telepathic I'm going to start thinking some ugly thoughts to keep you out of my head."

"I'm not, thank goodness," Agnes told him. At least, not very much. Not yet. It wasn't a direction she was planning on taking her powers, anyway. "Just perceptive. So... You have a reputation around here, then, Mister...?"

There were just some things that one could never be prepared to walk into a room and see.

This was one of them.

"Why are you naked on television?"

"Um. Early birthday gift for you?" Jamie offered. "Or it could be that one of my dupes got very drunk."

"Romantic," She said dryly. "I think we'll go with the second answer since mine was in August."

"I missed your birthday?" Jamie said raising an eyebrow. "And I'm still alive?"

Claire waved at the girl. "Hey, Temari."

Pulling her attention away from the nudity on the television, Temari nodded toward her with a faint smile. "Claire."

"So I kind of forgot about going to Principal Winchester," she said. "I don't know, is it worth it?"

She was kind of leaning toward "not really."

Lola wandered in, paused, looked at the TV, and went "Huh."

She realized it was possible that she should get out of her room more often, if this was the sort of thing that showed on American TV.

"Hey there L-O-L-A, Lola," Jamie said mimicking an old Clash song. "What's shaking?"

"Guten Tag, Jamie." Lola tilted her head. "Shaking?"

She hadn't heard that one yet. Yeah, she could probably guess, but for all she knew, it was some sort of reference to naked bungee jumping.

"As in 'What's new'?" Jamie elucidated. "I need to work on getting you up on some slang, don't I?"
