5th Floor Common Room: Wednesday night [10-8-08]

Helen was bored. Again. This whole 'relaxing' thing apparently was far harder than certain people made it sound. So she'd decided to amuse herself by cooking dinner and being a bit overenthusiastic about having something to do had probably made enough lasagna to feed half the school.

The smell of the garlic bread was making it hard to wait for the lasagna to finish baking, so she was contemplating the merits of making some sort of dessert to go with it.

The TV was on in the background, but she wasn't paying much attention to it.

[Open as common rooms are. Food's fair game for anyone!]

Sokka wafted down the hallway, drooling a little on the chinchilla in his arms. "Arm Girl! That smells GOOOOOOD!"

"A chinchilla," Sokka replied. "His name's Momo Jr., and he will ALSO have some of whatever you're cooking. Or at least try to swim in it. Is today a special holiday on your world or something, or are you just bored?"

Momo Jr. spun around restlessly in Sokka's arms, and then stood up and gnawed on his ear.

"OW! Hey! Down, boy! Down!"

Sokka worked on prying the rodent away from his face and shrugged at Helen. "Well, extra food is ALWAYS good. Those fridge things we've got? And microwaves? AWESOME."

"Seriously," Sokka agreed. "Not as awesome as television, but pretty high up there." He started shoveling lasagna into his mouth and grinned broadly. "Oh, this is GOOD!" he exclaimed, only spraying a little bit of tomato sauce and chewed pasta in his enthusiasm. "Really good!"

"Oh, sure," Sokka replied conversationally, still forking more lasagna into his mouth. "My parents, my sister, my friends, all sorts of people..." He trailed off. "Oh."

Looking a little sheepish, he went to get some paper towels to clean up his mess.

"No, seriously, this is AWESOME, though," Sokka told her.

"...And... I don't know why, but I feel like I ought to be complaining about Mondays, now."
