Fourth Floor Common Room [early afternoon]

It was rare that Aravis should bestir herself again before noon on weekends, after she'd taken care of Trenor, and today was no exception.

However, bad habits like sleeping in late didn't necessarily preclude a desire for breakfast-like foods, and gods help her, Aravis was learning how to cook.

Which was why the common room found her carefully making pancakes in the early afternoon, her hair down and out of its usual plaits, her jewelry and kohl absent, and her bodice loosely laced. Saturdays were meant for being lazy, and she intended to do just that. Though, of course, she would willingly share her pancakes, lumpy and misshapen (though otherwise good, thank you) though they were. She had tea, too, but given how strongly she made it, she suspected that would be rather less popular.

[omg come keep me awake. I've been up since ridiculous o'clock. Stupid teacher certification.]

"No need to apologize," Triela shook her head with a grin. "Not remembering makes it pretty easy to talk about, really. I mean, it's like it happened to someone else, you know?"

"Not really."

"Though," she added after a moment, "That might be an effect of the drugs too. It's sometimes hard to know just how much they suppress."

"Sorry," Triela said softly. "I don't mean to bring up unpleasant memories."

"If you're sure."

Triela grinned and drank some more tea. "So what is that you're working on?" she nodded at the pancakes.

"Yeah?" Triela eyed them. "They look sort of like really thick crepes."
