The gym, Sunday morning

Good morning, slumber party participants! Brooke had not been extremely pleased to be woken up by the text from the people at JGOB demanding she come to the front door and get the food she'd ordered for breakfast, but it was set out and moddable for everyone who'd stayed overnight. And plenty of coffee. Lots and lots and lots of coffee.

Chad shook his head a bit. "Nothing wrong with it," he said, inviting himself to have a seat next to her. "I won't interrupt if you'd rather keep reading, though."

"I don't mind," Hinata said smiling, with a shake of her head. "I j-just didn't want to impose on anyone m-myself."

"So, what'cha reading, anyway?"

"It's c-called Idlewild (http://www.amazon.ca/Idlewild-Nick-Sagan/dp/0451461983/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1224450779&sr=1-6)," she said, marking the page with her bookmark, and offering it to him. "It's very... bleak, but the cover and b-back sounded interesting."

Chad took the book and gave it a little bit of a look-over; the pages were marked, sure, but he still asked, "You very far into it?"

"A l-little over half," Hinata replied. "It's i-interesting. They d-don't follow the 'hero' and the 'bad guy' s-standard, not really. T-They're just... people."

"I always like when they do that," Chad commented. "More realistic that way, you know?"

"You c-can relate better," she mused. "Because they act more l-like people you might c-come across on the street."

"Or they're more like the person you are yourself," Chad noted.

"T-True enough," Hinata laughed softly. "Though not in this book."

"Is it yours?" Chad asked. "Or did you borrow it from the library?"

"It's mine." As she set it on her blanket for the moment. "I b-bought it while at work. Did you w-want to borrow it a-after, Chad-san?"

Chad nodded. "That's what I was going to ask, Hinata-san. If you don't mind, I'd like to have a look at it. When you're finished."

"I d-don't mind at all," she told him, smiling. "I'll b-bring it to you once I am d-done."

"Thanks, Hinata-san," Chad said, and there was a faint smile back.

"So, how'd you like the sleepover?"

"M-More than a I thought I w-would," she admitted. "It was u-uncomfortable at first, but now I t-think I wouldn't mind doing it again."

"Maybe we'll get to do another one next semester," Chad thought. "Because, after that, I won't be able to come to 'em."

Chad nodded. "It's still weird thinking I've been here for as long as I have."
