It had been entirely too long since Aravis had truly appreciated her insomnia.

Which was why Tuesday evening found her curled up on the couch with a truly spectacular and moddable array of candy before her, and her dog lounging at her feet. Aravis hadn't settled on anything to watch, so she just plaintively flipped through channels, appreciating a few seconds of each program.

"Another world, actually," she corrected, "but similar enough to what I can gather to be the middle ages of this world's past."

"Weird." There was a pause as Teddy's eyes went big. "I mean, not like you're weird, but... you know. The past. I'd die without TV or my PSP."

"What's a PSP?" she wondered.

"It's a hand held videogame."

It might break his heart if Aravis didn't know what that was.

"...aren't they all handheld?" she asked, miming how one might play a video game in front of a television.

"Oh, no. Like, I don't have to be at a TV to play," He explained. "It has a small screen on the controller.

Aravis looked suitably impressed. "Every time I think I know everything about the technological advancement of this world, someone tells me something like that."

Teddy laughed. "They keep updating here. At least you've gotten used to TV pretty well. That has some of the best things."

"And I like movies, too! In theaters," she told him, grinning. "With the very very large...television-things."

Teddy did a little geek flail. "Oh! Oh! If you like things exploding, you have to see Ratman The Shadowy Samurai!"

"I do?" she asked, raising her brows. "Many explosions in that one, then?"

"And fighting," Teddy replied excitedly. "I have it on my computer if you wanted to see."

Mmm, bootlegged DVDs.

"Computers can play movies?" she asked, eyes widening.

Teddy blinked a little at that. "Well... yeah."

"...I thought they were just for writing, and the inter-thing," she admitted, coloring slightly.

"Well, yeah, but you can also watch movies on them. Or play games!"

"They're so versatile!" Aravis said, amazed. "They aren't just for dirty pictures after all?"

Teddy turned bright red. "Um, no. Sometimes? But there's a lot that's not, um, that."

"I was told that is what the inter-thing is for," she said, blushing.

"Not all of it," Teddy insisted, shaking his head quickly. "You just have to be careful with what you search for."

"That's certainly better than I thought," she sighed. "I'll have to actually go look at it, now."

...like the internet was something she could just look at.

"You could try... Wikipedia first," Teddy said. "It's pretty non-dirty."

"Wicky-pedia?" she repeated curiously.

"It's like a dictionary online." A beat. "That you can add to."

"...it can't be very accurate, then can it?" she asked.
