The Range - Girls With Guns [Wednesday afternoon]

Triela had rarely been happier to be back in her suit. Stupid class with its stupid "fashion show". Ugh.

She was suppressing a shudder as she showed up early ~~unlike the mun~~ to clean her gear. She really needed some therapeutic shooting after that experience.

Ugh.

Because Triela would love to talk to you, as long as you don't bring up the "fashion show".

Dojima wasn't going to mention the fashion show. She was just going to sit here and clean her gun, and giggle occasionally.

"And what," Triela's voice was sharp, "is so funny?"

"Good day," Dojima called back cheerfully. "I got to go to the store with Romeo, see some of my friends in their element, cook with Cal, and now I'm here. Why shouldn't I be amused with life?"

Triela's eyes narrowed suspiciously, but she let it pass.

"Oh, I didn't know you knew Cal," she said instead.

"Hai, didn't you hear me cheering for him at the fashion show?" Dojima said sweetly.

Okay, she had tried, really, but poor Triela-san looked so dismal! The poor girl needed cheering up! "You know, Romeo's burning those abominations down at Pixie Dust, if you need catharsis or something."

"I really wish someone had agreed to get me a flame thrower," Triela grumbled unhappily after making a most unpleasant face in Dojima's direction.

Turtle cleaned her gun, arching an eyebrow a little over the varied emotions in the range at the moment. Her day had been a good one, though, so her mood reflected that.

"You look pretty happy," Triela called. She didn't think that was a bad thing.

"Almost dying in a go-kart earlier aside," Turtle said with a small grin, "I've had a pretty good day. How about you?"

"Not bad, except--" Her eyes widened. "Wait. What?"

"In Survival Skills," Turtle said with a smirk, "we had the Go-Kart course from hell. Luckily, I took driver's Ed with Mister Bond, so I was more than prepared, oh man."

"Well, I'm glad you survived," Triela grinned. "Because the alternative would have been lame."

"Well," Turtle shrugged, "the class is survival skills, so...you know. I can guarantee that, as a result, I'm probably the world's most careful driver."

Turtle would probably be that way even without any of Bond's classes, though.

"Good," Triela nodded. "It's important to be able to take care of yourself." She nodded easily at the targets as if to illustrate.

Which caused Turtle to sigh, just a bit. "Yeaaah," she said, looking at them a bit reluctantly. "The way I see it, if you're not going to, no one else will, you know?"

Triela nodded. "That's precisely right. I mean, sometimes you might get lucky and someone will be there. But eventually... you'll be on your own."

"Uh-huh," Turtle muttered, fingering the part of her gun she had been cleaning. "You know," she said, "I actually really hate this thing. You remember how reluctant I was to even join this club last semester. But I know that, if I've got it with me, and something happens, then I can take care of it. It's a weird feeling sometimes."

"I... can't really understand that," Triela admitted. "I mean, it makes sense, but... guns aren't something I have an opinion are. They're just something I do."

The conditioning only allows so much freedom.

"You don't..." Turtle tilted her head, "even really feel anything at all when you use one? It's just...pull the trigger, and that's it?"

"Pretty much." Triela shrugged. That's just how things were for her.

"Huh."

Turtle frowned thoughtfully at her gun for a long, long moment.

"Must be kind of nice," she muttered, mostly to herself.

"It's got its ups and downs," Triela agreed. "On the one hand, I don't have to worry about that sort of thing. On the other hand, I don't get to worry about that sort of thing."

Momoko was here and not at all thinking that at least Triela's outfit had been a good colour for her. She hummed happily as she got herself and her borrowed-yet-again gun ready.

"Hi, Momoko," Triela called.

"Hiiiiii Treila!" Momoko replied and gave a big wave. With the hand not holding the gun. "I'm gonna try for actually hitting the targets today! No wasted bullets or anything!"

"I think that's a great plan," Triela laughed.

"Plan. Dream. Fantasy..." She wiggled an eyebrow and grinned. "I'm getting better, though! I can't expect to be good at it from the beginning, unfortunately."

"Well, I didn't start off this good either," Triela admitted. "It takes a lot off practice to be able to shoot well."

Momoko nodded. "I know. But when so many other things come easy, it's hard to start at level one for something. Especially when so many others here are so good at it already."

"Well, that's true," Triela admitted. She knew exactly what that was like sometimes.

"But it also means I have good role models!" She added. "And lots of people I can ask for help!"

"You're lucky there are so many people who have experience with this stuff," Triela agreed. "Lots of teachers."

Where Triela is busily working a box of 12-gauge shells through her shotgun.

Shooting was good. Yurika picked a target, and focused on keeping her aim steady while squeezing off rapid shots.

Momoko took careful aim and pulled trigger. Oh look! She actually hit in one of the red circles! Just one, and it wasn't near a 'vital area' of the target, but it was definitely inside a red circle!

She did a little dance before continuing.

Oh, look, there was Bond. ~~Totally on time. Rly.~~

Aaaaah! But now midterms are the done. And I have time again. Maybe I can find some brains to go with it!
