Self-Defense Club, The Gym, Monday afternoon

"Today we're going to work on an exercise that improves your balance and footwork," said Hoshi with a sly smile. "We're going to be playing hopscotch. This is a game that started out in the Roman empire as a training exercise for soldiers. They would run the course in full body armor. I'm not sure how well it works as training, but I figured we could all use some fun today."

Cal wasn't exactly sure how much one needed to stretch for hopscotch, but he did a little, anyway. Ironically, it ended up being mostly his arms, since they'd gotten a good workout yesterday.

Oh, man. Hopscotch. That took Cal back a little, fondly, as one of the few things he could do and put his long limbs to...somewhat graceful use.

This was one of those weeks where Dick felt like the acrobat thing was a big cheat. But it was his cheat, so he embraced it. Metaphorically. Really, he just hopped like a pro.
