Triela was turning an unopened envelope over and over in her hand as she arrived at the range. The postmark was from Rome which could have meant any number of senders. But there was no return address, and that most definitely meant Jean. He was the only one who never bothered with those sorts of little human touches.

The envelope was unopened for a very two very good reasons. First, the conditioning meant she had to seek orders when possible, and resisting the compulsion to see what was in these was good practice. She'd managed almost an hour now, which was a new record for a compulsion this vague. The other reason was that she wasn't sure she really wanted to know what they were.

She hadn't heard anything since Priscilla's visit, after all.

And now it was club time. That shoud provide enough of a distraction to give her another hour before she opened the thing without realizing it. Two hours was pretty good, she supposed.

[I thought that after finals I might pass out and thus miss club, but instead I was so relieved that I forgot it was Wednesday. How weird is that?]

Lion-o had a mess of tinsel in his hair, and he couldn't seem to get rid of it. He was discretely trying to pull it out of his hair, but the static would pull it right back.

"You look ridiculous," Triela pointed out with a helpful grin.

"Oh, thanks," said Lion-o sheepishly. "Why the heck do they use this tinsel stuff anyway?"

"Beats me," she shrugged. "I've never really been a Christmas sort of person, myself." Henrietta was crazy enough about it for the both of them back home, anyway.

"We don't celebrate anything like it at home, so it's all so confusing," said Lion-o. "It probably doesn't matter, though. I'll probably go home for the break anyway so I won't be here for Christmas."

"Oh?" Triela couldn't help a glance over at the envelope. "You excited to see everyone?"

"Yeah. My dad wasn't able to come for Parents Weekend and I really miss him," said Lion-o. "I've never been away from home this long before."

"You doing okay?" she asked.

"Yeah. I miss home, but there's always something going on around here. It's easy to distract myself," said Lion-o. "How about you? Do you miss home?"

"Sometimes. I wonder how the other girls are doing without me."

Momoko was here and of course had tinsel in her hair. She'd spent a good five minutes of Flight Club braiding this crown of glorious sparkly Christmas goodness, after all.

"You..." Triela glanced over at Lion-O, then back. "You look significantly less ridiculous than some other people."

"I'm working with the weird today! Want me to make you one?" Momoko grinned and gave a thumbs up.

"Um..." Triela sounded doubtful. "I'm not sure it's really my style?" She gestured down at her formal coat and shirt.

"Pff." Momoko waved her hand dismissively. "Every girl can wear a crown; it's in the rules of being a girl."

"I think I missed the briefing with that one," Triela laughed.

Dojima was around, as usual, tinsel firmly stuck in her hair with pride.

If she kept eyeing Triela's pigtails with intent, well, it was all in good fun. Really.

Triela was eying Dojima back. Suspiciously.

Lion-o made sure to get some shooting practice in. His aim had clearly improved over the course of the semester.

Dojima had her Walther out, and was practicing grouping her shots into a tight range.

Borrowed gun firmly gripped, Momoko took aim and managed to actually do an okay job this time around! She wasn't quite so embarrassed to show these results, and she adjusted her tinsel crown proudly before setting up for a second go.

Naomi had her phaser and was practicing her aim.
