4th Floor Common Room: Sunday morning [1-11-09]

Two pregnant women walked into the 4th floor common room with enough breakfast supplies to feed half the dorm...

"This sucks," Peyton said, laughing. The empathy belly certainly seemed to be doing its job. "Good thing we got the food before we got these, 'cause I don't think you could have made me otherwise."

She started pulling out doughnuts and fruit and all the stuff that didn't require actual cooking and handed them to Angela - which was trickier than it sounded with two huge bellies in the way. "Here, you do this while I get the eggs and bacon going."

Angela raised her juice. "Here's hoping," she said.

"Oh, I'll drink to that!" Peyton said and managed to reach around her belly to bump glasses with Angela.

Angela couldn't help but laugh at the awkward gesture as the glasses chinked.

"I think the only class I have that you don't is literature, and that's actually pretty normal, for around here."

"I had literature last quarter," Peyton said with a sigh. "Got my first detention from Bennett. No note passing in class."

"I will definitely keep that in mind," Angela said with a nod. "Because I could definitely live without detention."

"Actually, that one was kind of nice," Peyton said a little dreamily. "Fancy clothes, drinks and appetizers, flirting with gorgeous men as I tried to solve a murder mystery..."

Angela smiled, sipping at her drink. "Mm, yes, that's the sort of detention that's actually worth getting."

"If only you knew beforehand which type of detention it would be," Peyton said thoughtfully. "Anyone here see the future?"

"Not that I know of," Angela admitted. "But there has to be someone around somewhere."

"Note to self, find one before getting your next detention."

"I'll keep an eye out for you." Might come in handy if she ever had the same problem. Hopefully she wouldn't, but it was good to be prepared.

"And this is why we are friends," Peyton said with a grin. "Right, scrambled eggs coming up."

"And then we have all morning to eat all this."

"How many more hours before we get to turn these in?"

"No idea," Angela said, shrugging. "I guess, just later this afternoon. Sometime." She was definitely guessing here.

"Now, I've never been pregnant before, thank god, but I'm guessing you don't suddenly pop like this, you know," Peyton said thoughtfully. "You kind of grow into it. That's gotta make things easier."

Angela gave a little laugh. "Neither have I, also thank god. But, you do definitely get to work your way up."

"But you also can't just take it off when you get sick of it."

"Oh trust me, I'm in no hurry to become pregnant," Peyton said. "I'm pretty sure I'm not really the mother type."

She bit her lip. "Well... that's not entirely true. I'd give just about anything to be Jenny's mother."

Angela smiled sympathetically. "But probably one of those things better left for your future. Quite a way in the future."

"Yeah," Peyton smiled at her and finished up the eggs and slid them onto a plate. "Bacon?"

"I think I'll be good with just eggs," Angela said with a shake of her head. She smiled. "Have to save room for all the doughnuts."

"And the good pastries for later," Peyton pointed out.

"If I don't have my very own food baby by the end of this, I will be shocked," she said with a laugh.

"Oh, we're totally working it off," Peyton objected. "Carrying all this weight around - totally an aerobic workout!"

"I can think of so many things I would rather use as a workout," she said with a little smirk.
