The Roof, Monday Night

Okay, so whatever, she hadn’t exactly waited for Liir before getting on Staffy and practicing swooping up and down on the roof. But she hadn’t exactly lied either—she’d just gone out her window instead of walking up.

So of course she had to fly up. And then, once you were in the air, why would she ever want to come down?

She laughed, and did a twirl with Staffy.

Liir was still a little anxious about the roof, so he had the broom still in it's quiver as he walked up. Seeing Ino above him, however, he smiled.

"All started then?"

She swooped down and circled around him.

"I cheated," Ino said, touching down. "I flew up from my room."

"Aha. Though I wouldn't say you cheated," he said as the broom was extracted and his bag was moved around for boarding, "just... started early."

"Something like that, I guess," she laughed. "It just seemed a shame to walk when I could fly. Let's go up, shall we?"

"I'm coming, I'm coming," he said as he mounted the broom and kicked off, swooping up to her height easily.

"I just wanted to make sure the roof was clear."

Ino blinked, as she let herself drift up a bit higher. "Clear?"

He nodded.

"The last time I flew in, Arthur lost his top on me, calling me a sorcerer and accusing me of all manner of things. I hardly had the time to stretch after coming down before I just left."

He wouldn't mention the sword. Best Ino didn't know about that.

"Arthur's an ass," she said, scowling though not at him. "Don't listen to his crap, and don't you dare let him bully you."

"He's not so bad," because Arthur wasn't nearly as bad as some of the young Gilikin boys running around the Emerald City.

"I just didn't understand why he was so upset. And he wouldn't explain, just kept snapping."

He flew a little higher and shook his head.

"I would have stayed but usually people in that kind of a fit don't turn around and start making sense."

"He threatened to throw me in the stocks 'cause I wasn't all bowing to his whims on new kid day," she said, still frowning. "He is that bad, sorry."

Ino shrugged, shaking her head. "Whatever. He's not here now, is he?"

He shook his head.

He bent to the handle and zoomed forward, gaining on her quickly.

"The hell you will," he laughed as he followed her.

He told the broom it'd better kick up the speed and it reared almost like a horse before flying forward.

"Going to catch you!"

He pulled in his elbows and went into a barrel roll, using the spin to speed him towards the beach.
