Gym - Friday Afternoon

Now that Lois wasn't taking a phys ed class anymore, she was responsible for her own exercise. Which kind of sucked. She had to put in effort and everything into it now. That was kind of lame. At least she didn't have to wear stupid uniforms in here.

Lois had Lady Gaga blasting and decided to start off with some stretches. She was thinking about moving on to the punching bag after. She was always up for punching something.

Jaina had to laugh. "That's a great image," she said. "How're you doing? You look kind of done."

"Dinah wanted me to spar with her. Which is something I hadn't done in...a while," she said. Lois sighed. "I think I got my ass kicked."

"Yeah, generally we try to avoid that part," Jaina said helpfully. Oh, look, she was actually in a good enough mood to tease.

"So you're saying I'm doing it wrong?" she asked, giggling.

"No, you're probably getting the ass-kicking done right, but the sparring, maybe not so much," Jaina said. "Things like dodging and blocking might be something to work on."

"Blocking, yes," she said, sitting and putting her arms across her knees. "That would be much better than taking every hit."

"Keep it in mind," she said. "Need anything? Icepack? Cute masseuse? That one might be harder for me to find."

"Oh, Jaina. This whole school is filled with cute masseuses," she said. "It's just that they aren't professionals. And they look a lot like teenage boys."

"I seem to be bad at noticing them most of the time anyway," she said. "You'd probably get whoever I dragged in here first."

"Oh, come on, don't doubt yourself. I'm sure you'd be able to find a good one," Lois said.

"Sure, if you were really feeling lucky," Jaina told her. "

"I'm not feeling too lucky today," Lois admitted. "I really need to start coming here regularly again."

"Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing," she agreed. Though her reasons weren't exactly happy. "Am I going to have to start calling you to yell if I don't see you here often enough like I threatened to do with Cal?"

"It might help," Lois admitted. "I won't mind that. Just as long as you don't come into my room and throw cold water in my bed to get me to wake up and exercise."

Her dad might've done that.

"Noooo. I think John threatened to do that to me once. I would've killed him. It was early on, I could have moved on easily," she replied.

Lois laughed. "That would have been total grounds for a break up. Or murder."

"Still got me up at like 0600 or something to go running. I'm kind of amazed I didn't do either," Jaina admitted.

Lois looked serious for a moment. "God help anyone who tries to wake me up before ten in the morning."

Jaina tried not to laugh. "All right, no calling you before ten if I don't want to die."

"Oh, I take precautions at night, don't worry about that. Phone off, blind fold, blankets over my head," Lois said. "I take my sleep seriously."

Wow, that was dedicated. "Apparently," she said, sounding surprised. "Meanwhile I'm not sure the last time I slept for a full eight hours. ...When I wasn't unconscious."
