The Gym - Tuesday morning
Tap shoes on, Amber set up her CD player and began to warm up. Her conversation with her ma was weird this morning. Amber just blurted out crap that she had no intention of saying and it was just freaking weird.
Getting out of her room worked, not to mention the work out she needed. Spent up restlessness can do that to a person so she was here in black yoga pants and a simple t-shirt, dancing acrorss the gym floor.
[The gym is open, of course.]

Not that Triela knew much about doing things just for fun.

A beat.
"I'm sorry for that, Triela."

She grinned suddenly, "Besides, isn't a good thing for a girl to be mysterious?"

"Besides it makes it easier to keep secrets from you."
...
She hadn't been planning on saying that.

Ooops.
"Wait. What? What kind of secrets?"

"Um... the kind that are complicated and hard to explain?" she hedged, sort of doubting that would work.
no subject
It didn't. "Try."

"That I wake up every morning crying?" Triela suggested. "Because I've managed to keep that from you so far, right?" It helped that it was completely silent crying. As long as she wiped her eyes quickly no one could tell.

Amber sucked in air. "Triela, why do you cry?"

Then she sighed. "No one knows. Which is why I don't bring it up. It's one of the side-effects of the conditioning. The current theory is that we dream old memories." She shrugged. "But since we never remember our dreams, no one really knows."
