Roof - Thursday Afternoon

Aretha Franklin was fierce but Chuck Bass was fiercer, sorry to say. That was Chuck's logic as to why he didn't get a ridiculous hat (did Aretha have a catchphrase? No, she did not). One would think the island was too afraid to give Chuck the hat because he'd just make it work and then Fandom would explode from the awesome that would ensue.

That is what would really happen, you know.

Still, Chuck was wearing an item of clothing that was equal in fierceness to that hat (his scarf) and was sitting on the ledge of the roof, one leg hanging off the side and doing one of the things he does best. Which would be getting high.

God, he couldn't wait for those brownies.

[Open roof is open, yes]

Claire hadn't been up on the roof much before but, call it stoner genius, she found Chuck today.

She wasn't as fierce as he was, so she was stuck with the hat as she settled on the ledge a bit away from him. "Hey."

"Yeah, I chose it for you," Claire said, self-conscious. Stupid hat. "How'd you get out of it, anyhow? Like everyone in journalism had one."

Claire took the joint and breathed in deeply before passing it back. "Thanks," she said. "You just made my week better."

"Yeah? What's up?"

Claire looked interested, but also skeptical. Given that it was Chuck, he might just be hitting on her.

Hey, Claire was still hot in the hat.

... okay, no, she wasn't.

"Francine left me a message about brownies back when the phones were all jacked," she said, as a slow smile spread over her face, from the idea as much as the drug. "Temari's into that?"

"You turned her on?" Claire made (somewhat polite) gimme fingers at the joint. "Oh, dude, brownies will be like nirvana if she likes chocolate anyhow. Plus, no smoke."

She didn't cough anymore, but she'd been smoking since she was 11. Nate Fisher had interesting ways of relating to his baby sister.

"Cool, she's kind of awesome. I haven't had brownies in a long time," Claire noted nostalgically, before getting down to the business of inhaling. She let the joint warm her hands for a moment before offering it back, tilting her head up.

"The clouds are completely amazing today," she observed. Because pot made you smarter.

"Mmmm," Claire agreed slowly. "Like .... it might snow. I hope it does, I wanna make snowmen again."

"It was colllllld," Claire said, drawing the word out. "And annoying. I dunno, I didn't think it was that bad besides that. Maybe you're just a wuss."

[identity profile] swipedthatfoot.livejournal.com 2009-02-05 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Claire stifled her giggle against the back of her hand. "Uh-huh."

More giggles. "Sorry."

[identity profile] swipedthatfoot.livejournal.com 2009-02-05 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"I do!" Claire protested with another giggle. "Okay, I kind of don't, but you keep me from having to deal with anyone too skeevy every time I wanna get high."

... Claire's skeeviness scale may have been skewed.

"You don't know my ex," Claire explained. "Next to him you're, like, a teddy bear."

And that mental image made her start giggling again.

"I think," Claire said thoughtfully as she stared at those gray clouds some more, "we have a deal. Don't wanna ruin your image."
