The Stables, Friday Morning

Over the last few weeks in Fandom, Adora had rarely been anyone's definition of the word glum. But today, as she moved about the stables taking care of everything Spirit might require, Adora was positively giddy.

Spirit was sort of horrified.

Spirit snorted at her, his deep and gravelly voice told her in all honesty what he thought about her actions.

"I take it you had fun, Adora? Given the way you're dancing about the stables like Glimmer preparing for a ball."

Adora laughed, patting her beloved steed. "It was delightful, Spirit! Prince Edward is a remarkable date."

"I'm glad you had a good time, Adora. Just don't forget why we're here," Spirit warned, allowing her to brush his mane to a full shine.

"Of course not, Spirit," she sighed, thoughtful about how she was neglecting her people by being away. "But I can't imagine even with the Horde at our backdoor that the fun would come to a halt. Perhaps I would even be going on dates back home."

"Perhaps," Spirit allowed, lowering his neck to give her better access. "Have you had the chance to contact He-Man?"

Adora frowned, not answering right away. "I'm not sure if I should right now, Spirit. Part of me is dying to go back and fight the good fight, but I don't know if I'd ever be able to stop and return to my studies here."

"Think on it," Spirit said soothingly, butting his nose against her shoulder. "You know Adam will want to hear all about this Prince of yours."

Adora rolled her eyes. "Just like I will want to hear all about his time with Glimmer, and Casta, and Frosta." That last name might have been twinged with jealousy.

Spirit burst into gruff laughter, causing Adora to get the giggles, realizing how silly she sounded.

When they'd calmed, he continued the conversation. "If you'd like, you can call him from the stables. I don't think the other horses will mind you talking to your sword."

"I promise I'll think about it Spirit," she told him, putting away the rest of the grooming supplies. "Now, what say we go for a run?"
