Second Floor Common Room, Saturday Morning

Molly had no idea what she was doing up this early, but decided to celebrate by wandering into the common room to get a bowl of cereal and glass of juice before she figured out what to do with the rest of her weekend.

Maybe she'd catch up on her Thaumaturgy, since she'd missed Thursday. Or maybe she wouldn't.

She turned the television on and began to surf lazily, right up until the remote stopped working and she got stuck watching some kind of CID marathon, because obviously she wasn't getting up off the couch to change the channel.

"Doesn't that just mean she can't see?"

"Her prescription is really strong," Malcolm agreed. "She let me try on her glasses, once. It was like looking through a giant magnifying glass!"

Molly grinned. "Sounds like you like her a lot."

"I do! She always thinks of great things to do, like go see Japanese movies. Those are really neat. I still don't know why they don't make them here."

"...because we're not in Japan and most of us don't speak Japanese?"

It was like a little light bulb going off. A very little one. Like, a fairy light bulb. That blinked. And was almost dead.

"Ohhhhhh! That might be it!"

Molly couldn't help laughing. "Have you two been dating long?"

"Just since Christmas -- I mean Channukah." He said this with far more phlegm then was really required. "We fell in love on the class ski trip, when I helped her hang a menorah ornament on the tree."

"That sounds really nice, the two of you blending the holidays that way."

"Shhh! You can't let Barbara Streisand know. Zoe might get in trouble."

"Zoe knows Barbra Streisand?"

"She does?"

Really, Molly should just probably stop trying to make sense of what Malcolm was saying.

Whoa. There was no...wow. "Never mind. What are you going to do to get back to Pennsylvania, since no one's holding you hostage?"

Then, "No one's holding you hostage, right?"

"Of course not, silly!" Malcolm shook his head. "And how do you get back to a place where you are already?"

"You're not...y'know what? Forget it." He'd have to figure it out eventually. Maybe.

Malcolm shrugged. "Okay!"

"Got plans for the rest of today?"

"Nope. I figured I'd just find Jake. He always knows something interesting to do."

"Good luck with that." Assuming Jake was here and had a car, maybe he could drive Malcolm back to Pennsylvania.
