withoutverona: ([AU] Luke is too young to be hot)

5th Floor CR, Sunday Afternoon

Luke still didn't really know where he was, and the Seavers hadn't picked up when he called. He should have known better than to be taken in by all the "Luke, we're your family now" stuff, right? Dumb. And this place seemed to be strange, but a little better than the streets.

Anyhow, he had a full fridge and a pile of creative sandwich fixings, so he knew he wouldn't have to steal food again. So far, he'd made ham and swiss, turkey and cheddar, salami and American, peanut butter and jelly, and tuna salad with potato chips, and he'd probably keep making them until he ran out of bread. Either he'd share them or he'd eat them himself.

The TV was tuned to some moddable sporting event on ESPN, and Luke was trying to decide who to root for as he cooked.

[OOC: Open CR! Have a sammie!]

"Hi," Jeff said, without any real introduction or noise to make it clear that he'd just shown up. "Have you seen my girlfriend? She's about this tall," he held up his hand at a random height, "Dark hair, might be shouting something about naughty boys?"

"It's a weekend," Jeff said, and shrugged. That was his answer to everything.

He did take a sandwich, though. "Thanks."

"One of those weekends where the island gets a bit bored," Jeff explained, chewing down on his sandwich. He looked at Luke with a squint. "...I think I may know you," he said, "But I really have a horrible time memorizing bloke's faces."

"Hi, Luke," Jeff said. He continued to chew on his sandwich. It was a good sandwich. "Welcome to Fandom Island. I can't stay long 'cos of my girlfriend, though, she's going to be quite cross when the weekend is over."

He paused.

"I may have to move rooms for a few days," he said, thoughtfully.

"No," Jeff said, shaking his head, "I just make it a point not to go near women when they're cross. They're allowed to slap you. Or, in Turtle's case, kick you in the shins."

He pointed at his shins.

"Girlfriends have their advantages, though," Jeff said, wisely, "Many of them damp."

"Not really," Jeff said, grinning a bit before he caught himself. "Er. So if you see Turtle, or whatever she's calling herself, please let me know. It's absolutely vital."

No, Jeff hadn't given anyone much of a description to go on.

"Room 513," Jeff said, pointing helpfully. "As for the dampness, it's really not like swimming at all. That's too damp."

Jeff gave him an enthusiastic thumbs up. "Just keep working on it," he advised.

Tomoyo peeked into the room in her constant quest to find Sakura. Her friend was not answering her phone, and Tomoyo couldn't reach her mother, either.

This was most definitely the work of a Clow Card.

"Oh, hello," she said, noticing the boy. "Have you seen a cute girl, about this tall? She is very sweet and bubbly, with brown hair, and her name is Sakura."

"I do not know who is normally here," Tomoyo said politely, "but I am here now. I think the bed I woke up in belongs to an older girl, judging by the contents of the closet." So many pretty clothes, but they were all too big for Tomoyo.

[identity profile] dojima-hime.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"That does not seem right," Tomoyo fretted. "There was a cat, sleeping on the bed when I awoke yesterday. It had a collar, and a food dish by the bed, so I do not think it is a class pet. Where did the owner go to?"

[identity profile] dojima-hime.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hai! I found her food, and let her sleep with me last night," Tomoyo reassured him. "Although it feels quite odd, using another person's room. Like a sleepover with someone missing."

She started wandering around the common room, peeking in the various closets and nooks. "What are you doing?"

[identity profile] dojima-hime.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh! Sandwiches are very nice!" Tomoyo enthused, practically skipping over. "I like to cook, when I get the chance."

"I am Dai - I mean Tomoyo Daidoji," she said, bowing slightly as she remembered the Western way of giving her name. A proper lady always adapted to her circumstances. "I would very much like to help, Mr. Luke."

"I am from Japan," she informed him seriously, being very careful with her peanut butter. She didn't want to make a mess. "Tokyo, handwavey prefecture. Am I correct in thinking this is America?"

[identity profile] dojima-hime.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"I do not know how I got here either," Tomoyo confessed, completely serious. "Although I believe it to be magic."
