3rd Floor Common Room: Sunday Night [2-8-09]

Peyton had spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out how she'd gotten here, and what Dan expected to gain by sending her so far away, with little result. She was tired now and just wanted to not think for a little bit.

She made her way to the common room and decided to see if there was anything on the television. Imagine her surprise when instead of the three black and white stations she was expecting, there was color and more channels than she could ever imagine watching.

She settled herself demurely on the couch and began doing what another generation would refer to as 'channel-surfing'.

Peyton shook the head. "He is the mayor. You begin to see my problem?"

"Wow." Blossom nodded, and dropped her head to think. This was a very serious and important problem all right, and it demanded a proper study and a review of all the facts. "You said that you don't know how you got her, so that means that you're not from this town, right? Do you think maybe someone has kidnapped you?"

Peyton considered that seriously for a moment. Might someone have rescued her, brought her here so she'd be away from Dan?

"I'm not from here, no," she said slowly. "But if someone kidnapped me - or rescued me - wouldn't they have hung around? Oh, it's all so confusing!"

"I agree. It is strange that they didn't stick around, or leave you a note. But all weekend I've been hearing about missing people, including my sister, Buttercup." Blossom nodded slowly as a theory was beginning to take shape in her mind. "But we couldn't find any trace of her or any villains that would have taken her, and when I think about it, is it really Buttercup that's been kidnapped, or me and Bubbles? Maybe... maybe anyone who's missing someone is actually the one who is missing."

She looked up. "Does that make sense?"

"You think we were all kidnapped and brought here?" Peyton said slowly. "That sounds... rather frightening."

The more Blossom thought about, the surer she was. "No, no. It makes sense. It does!" She rubbed her chin and subconsciously floated up from her seat to fly a path back and forth, like she was pacing.

"And if that's all true, then I know of only one villian cunning enough, evil enough, and powerful enough to do all of this." She stopped her pacing and pounded her fist into her palm. Oh, no. It wasn't Mojo, it was...

"Him."

If it was Him, there was going to be some serious trouble and Blossom needed to plan. They were already down one Powerpuff and most of her attack plans were designed for all three of them; just look at the trouble they'd run into at the bank earlier. She needed to plan!

"Huh? Not him, 'Him'." Blossom was slightly distracted, but she had a duty to hide her distress from this poor innocent citizen who was simply caught in Him's evil scheme. "He's pure evil and he wants to take over Townsville. But don't worry. We'll take care of it and then make sure you get home safe."

Somehow.

Peyton was starting to think maybe she'd ended up in some sort of mental institution. The people here, with the possible exception of Tom, did seem a bit... off.

And it was exactly the sort of nasty trick Dan would pull to make sure she did as she was told. Maybe if she was just quiet and followed the rules she'd be able to get out - if she promised Dan she'd behave when he came back for her.

In the meantime she smiled and nodded at the strange girl. "Thank you," she said politely. "I appreciate it.

Blossom smiled back, despite her worries about Him. "It's not a problem at all. It's a part of my responsibilities as a Powerpuff Girl to make sure that good citizens like yourself are safe. Especially when trouble like Him is involved." She blinked. "Uhm. Do you want to be returned home, though? Because I think I can convince our mayor to let you stay in Townsville if I tell him about your stalker guardian."

"Um... why don't we wait and see what happens with, um... Him," Peyton said carefully. "I'll be sure to have decided by then."

Blossom hesitated for a moment, but, well, it wasn't her choice to make.

"You really should think it over. From what you told me, the only way that you can get away from your stalker guardian is to move away." Not her decision, but she could still lecture. "And you really can't get a much nicer and friendlier city than Townsville. Even with all the monster attacks."
