Shooting Range, Monday Evening

After a lovely if handwaved dinner, Yurika and Romeo arrived at the second part of their date: shooting things.

Yurika sat down to take out her Walther, cleaning and inspecting the gun carefully. "Slap the rules sign on the door?" she asked, looking up with a smile. "I doubt anyone will just wander in, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry."

"You know I learned to shoot as a child," Romeo cautioned, and stepped back. "Take another shot. I'm watching now."

"I know, and I'd rather have private lessons from you than Triela-san," she said, giving him a grateful smile before picking up her gun and taking aim again. "I like her, and she's very good, but I trust your advice more."

Yurika didn't need shotguns or rocket-launchers, and she preferred quiet time with Romeo. To her, it seemed like a perfect combination.

She squeezed off three quick rounds, hitting solidly on the eight ring in a close cluster, to the left of the bullseye. "Ahhh! Better! Kinda."

"Triela doesn't care if she kills," Romeo said quietly, because that was all he could say about Triela, then watched.

"You slant left," he informed her. "Move your arm closer in and shift your weight, so." He put his hands on her, trying to tug her into position.

The safety was on, again, and Yurika let herself be poked and prodded into position until he seemed happy.

"Well, I don't want to kill anyone," she stated firmly. "Especially not by accident. We'll be using non-leathal orbo bullets at work, but I'll still carry my own gun, too. The better aim I have, the better chance I can shoot to wound and not make a mistake."

"Aim at the knee, if you're shooting to wound," Romeo advised. "Shoulder can come too close to the lung or heart, and people die from stomach wounds."

He frowned a little at what she'd said. "Would you expect to need to shoot that often?"

He might have still been having a few problems processing what she'd be doing.

"Yes, but the orbo bullets break on contact. They're really just a delivery method for getting the orbo on to the skin and into the bloodstream," Dōjima answered. "Maybe an orbo overdose could kill, but I have no idea."

"I'll be carrying my Walther when I'm off-duty at the STN-J because I'm not stupid, but I'm not planning on needing to use it."

Not any time soon, anyway. If it came to the point she was to take Zaizen into custody, she'd shoot first and ask questions later.
