Second Floor Common Room, Wednesday evening

Dinah had gone down a floor to watch Darkest Night with Tony, and been puzzled to find he wasn't there already. Shrugging, and expecting he'd join them in a bit, she'd turned the channel to the show, made a big bowl of popcorn, and settled in.

Apparently, there was a coven of aristocratic witches that Raymond Dark was supposed to have destroyed centuries ago. Only of course not.

"It did!"

"Ahhhhhh," Dinah finally said when she could take a breath. "Okay! I'm sorry. Ahem." She took a breath, thinking, and shook her head in amazement. "Other-Merlin had some guts, turning that other-Arthur into a squirrel. He was really... impressive."

"He was." Not that Merlin noticed these things. "He reminded me of another knight back home. looks wise, at least."

"Really? Who?" Dinah bit her lip. "Other-Me met him, and... I mean, she was adult, and professional, and I don't think the word 'squee' was something she'd even thought in ages, and even though she didn't let it show at all, she was totally thinking 'I just met King Arthur, cool.'"

"Lancelot. The dark... thing was the same."

Dinah choked on a bit of popcorn, and gave him a weirded-out look. "Lancelot? Seriously." She swallowed. "You know a guy named Lancelot."

"Well, yes." Merlin shot her a look out of the corner of his eye. "Why?"

"He's in those stories too," Dinah said, frowning. "The ones I told you about the first week or day you were here, or something. The best knight in the world, I think? I can't remember all of it." And yeah, no reason to mention that love-triangle thing. That would just be... weird. "Lancelot du Lake. Du Lac? Argh. Something."

"Best knight? Arthur still beat him, but he'd very good," Merlin admitted.

"Well, the King Arthur in the stories is... King Arthur," Dinah said, trying to remember. "He's doing king-things. Not so much with the knighting any more? I'm not sure. There's too many stories, anyway. I think there's at least three movies about that King Arthur. Maybe more."

Dinah smiled a smile of unholy glee. "I think there's a musical. With the knights singing.... kind of like Edward."

"I can not even imagine Arthur singing like that."

"Does he sing at all?" Dinah asked. Then winced a little, still giggling. "I sang at him a lot last night. ~Boom di yadda, boom di yadda...~"

"Only when he's saying my name and has something wretched in mind for me to do," Merlin replied, laughing at her singing.

"What, like, ~Oh, Merlin, I have a surprise for you!~ I would run. Seriously. At least once in a while. Killing rats, whose good idea is that? Sheesh."

"I would, but he tackles rather hard," Merlin informed her. Even if it had managed to cheer Arthur up...

"Jock-boy," Dinah muttered, rolling her eyes. "Thinking with his muscles first." She tilted her head. "Sometimes, anyway."

"I started it," Merlin replied with a grin. "But it got him to laugh after the weekend."

"You're so sneaky. I told him you had hidden depths," Dinah said, throwing popcorn at him and giggling. "And yay for you. You're a good friend."

"He needs one," Merlin said haughtily. "Even if it is just a servant."

"Just. Nothing." Dinah now Tk'd a handful of popcorn at him. "And you know it. Smart guy." She took a handful for herself. "Anyhow. Maybe we should sing him one of those songs for his birthday. You think?"
