The Salle, Sunday Morning

It was still quite early when Tahiri headed down to the salle and, finding no one there as of yet, got her lightsaber and remotes out of the weapons locker. She did think to stick a sign on the door, though it wasn't quite the succinct "Caution: Live Fire Exercise" warning that usually got used for these things. What? "Watch Out For Lasers" worked, if you asked her. Sure, these were low-powered stun bolts, but still.

She examined the remotes for a moment, deciding to start with one at first; it had been a while since she'd done this. Really, a lot longer than it should have been. Now, to see if Dinah would show up first.

[OOC: Waiting for Dinah, but open of course!]

Dinah was pretty impressed by the Laser waring as it was, so poked her head in to check if Tahiri had started. "Hey! Morning. Are those the little robots you were talking about?"

"Coooooool." Dinah's hand hovered over one, but she didn't quite dare pick it up. "Can I touch one?" She grinned a little. "And how was your Valentine's Day?"

"Yaaay," Dinah commented on the second thing, then grinned, and used her telekinesis to spin it around in the air, twirling, and then hovering a little higher.

"Good flowers, good friends, and three-minute dates that were... interesting," Dinah said with a grin. "I've had lots worse." She carefully set the remote down, and stood up. "Ready whenever you are!"

"I'm okay with not getting zapped," Dinah said hastily, moving out of the way. She pressed herself against the wall, eyes wide.

Dinah heard, vaguely, about light-sabers-- either in class or on the Radio, she wasn't sure which-- but seeing one was entirely different.

"You are soooo wrong," Dinah said, getting ready to dodge, eye on the remote and Tahiri's swishing around the pretty, deadly light sword.

"A dozen, holy crap how?" Dinah blurted, remembering Miss Atreides blurring across the room, and wondering if this was the same thing. "This is amazing!" Then she lowered her voice, adding, "Sorry, don't want to distract you!"

"It's really, really appreciated," Dinah said, keeping her voice down. Then gaping as Tahiri aimed for the ceiling. "Ooooooooo."

Maybe, maybe, by the end of the year, she'd know how to use her TK like that, or move that fast...

It kinda looked like it would a lot, like playing dodgeball with a taser. Sheesh. Dinah was quiet for several minutes, watching Tahiri twist, parry, dodge and duck, just amazed at what she could do.

"How long have you been studying, again?" she marveled.

"You are so wrong." Tahiri sounded enough like Dinah had been sounding to herself lately that she hoped the other girl would get it. "Really. This is amazing. Just being able to do this, it's, it's... Wow."

She ducked a stray bolt, eyes wide. "Really wow!"

"Nope, but this is still way cool," Dinah said, bouncing in place a little as she watched. "I guess they'd have to get that good, if they were going to use a light saber in a war zone, hunh?"

"Thanks for showing me," Dinah said, putting her hands in her pockets. "It's really incredible." She tilted her head. "What do the Jedi do, anyway? I know they're the side you're on, and Mr. Skywalker, I read about that."

She was blocking out everything else about that article except a dog sitting on a teacher's head.

"But I don't know anything else about them."

"Like Arthur's knights, sorta," Dinah said, kind of amused. "Roaming cops slash diplomats slash soldiers, hunh." She shook her head amusement fading. "Tough tough job."
