Gym; Wednesday After Classes [ 02/18 ] -- Cheer Practise!

It was Chad's turn to set up for cheerleading practise, which he did pretty easily, as he never had much trouble moving the mats or even lugging around the giant container for Gatorade. In fact, the most difficult thing for Chad was picking out the music. There were a lot of options but, today, he was thinking they needed some rock. If he could make life contain just a little less pop music, he was content.

"You keep saying that," she said, shooting him a smile. "Way I see it, you're really not doing that badly at all."

"I bought a book." He hadn't. But, man, he almost had. "How to be romantic and all the stuff that comes with it!"

Angela had to smirk a little at that. "Never pegged you as a self-help book guy," she said. Probably because she never saw him reading anything that wasn't in a magazine. Or behind one.

"I am a mysterious man!" he said and waggled his fingers at her. "And I wouldn't read that where you could see so of course you don't know!"

"You are indeed," she said wriggling her fingers right back at him with a grin. "It's very confusing sometimes."

"Yeah, right," he said and laughed. "I'm anything but confusing. I'm like the most open book out there."

Wrong.

Angela stared at him a moment, and laughed. "You are kidding, right?"

"I'm not an open book?" he asked.

"Only very occasionally," Angela told him. Like when he was lying badly. "The rest of the time?" she shook her head. "Not really."

"Does that bother you?" he asked curiously. "That I don't...share?"

"It can be a little frustrating," she admitted and shrugged. "But that's most men, so... Like you said, you're not a sharer."

"Point taken," he said thoughtfully. "I've never been overly share-y. Family trait. The Kings are a closed off family."

"I'm sure I can make up for your shortfall there," Angela remarked with a little laugh. She on the other hand, was generally pretty oversharey. "I'm good at that."

"Your family's very open?" he asked. "With everything?"

"My Dad is definitely not an open book," Angela allowed with a laugh. "But I don't take after him in the gruff 'keep it all to myself' thing."

"Maybe it is a guy thing," he said thoughtfully. "I hardly share anything with...anyone."

"You're all weird," she told him with a smile. "And you should try sometime. It might do you good."

"I dunno, I think I might have gotten my fill of that," he said thoughtfully.

Angela huffed a little laugh. "A little too much truth all at once put you off?" she said. Ah yes, that topic they've both been studiously avoiding.

"A little too much not of my own volition," he said. "I kind of would have liked to tell that myself, you know? Without the island making me."

"You are definitely not alone in that," Angela shared. She smiled wryly. "Unfortunately, the place does love to screw with us."

"Yep. But, I won't take them back," he said, looking down. "What I said. S'all true."

That one got a real smile out of her. For all that it had been said, she was a fan of getting confirmation when it wasn't actually forced out of him.

"Well, that's good, because I'm not taking anything back either," she told him.

"Is that your sharing for the day?" she added, teasing just a little. Couldn't help herself. Really.

"I think so," he said and laughed. "Be prepared for superficial or cryptic answers from now on."

"I think our earlier conversation has me well covered on that," she replied, smirking a little.
