Third floor common room, Sunday evening

While he had enjoyed the cruise more than he had expected, and eventually got used to being on a ship, Leto was happy to be back. He had considered writing one of those letters he could never send to his sister at home, but decided against it - they always made him melancholy and that wasn't what he wanted.

Instead, he brought the baliset to the common room, and after tuning the instrument he began to play a slow Caladan song, one that Gurney Hallek had once taught his father.

[Open, of course!]

"Sounds complicated," Triela shook her head in disapproval. Combat was supposed to be simple.

"That's true," Triela snorted. She waved a hand at herself in silence. Because, really, what did she need to say?

"If I have to, but it's slower." Triela shrugged. "I did the entirety of my last mission with a garrote."

Triela shot him a disdainful look. Of course it was successful. Triela didn't fail missions.

She rolled her eyes at the smirk, but permitted herself a small answering smirk of her own.

"You don't try to control someone who's not dangerous."

"Not really," Triela shrugged. "Not much point."

Because she was just that good.

Or thought so, at least.

"I'm considerably faster and stronger than a baseline human, and I spend the vast majority of my time killing people." So of course she was better than everyone else.

"No one's at my level," Triela shook her head. Which she was almost certainly wrong about.

Triela just smiled confidently. She never did that.

Cue exasperated eyerolling from the mun.

Triela leaned back and listened. He was pretty good with the thing, after all.
