Cal considered skipping the whole Rumor Gal thing again tonight (could it be? Had C finally outgrown his Upper East Side Obsession?), but then he remembered that he'd started a monster. It was a small monster, true, but one all the same, and that monster demanded his obligation of going to the common room, 'losing' the remote, and then being too lazy to get up from the couch to change the channel from where he lounged with a box of cookies.

With Rumor Gal on TV, even if it wasn't until next week that there were new episode. So annoying.

"That looks like a cookie," Worf taking said cookie and inspecting it carefully. "With a chocolate coating. And not a mint."

"As always," said Cal, "your power of observation has left me astounded, Worf. Just eat it, and you'll be enlightened."

There was a pause.

"That's not drug reference, by the way, but it might as well be one. They're fucking addictive."

Worf took a bite and frowned before shaking his head. "It is... too sweet. Where did these come from?"

"I don't know," Cal admitted. "I found them in the cupboard, which is weird. Girl Scouts sell them. I don't think we have any Girl Scouts on the island."

"Female scouts?" Worf asked raising an eyebrow. "I believe you are right unless there is a military unit made up of females that I am unaware of."

Cal felt like correcting Worf, but, to be honest, the whole idea of Girl Scouts taking up arms and battling was way too amusing to him. So, instead, he just shrugged. "I like them," he said, "and I haven't keeled over from poison or whatever yet, so I won't question it."

"Perhaps," Worf mused. "Maybe their addictive qualities are part of their ruse."

"Not everything is set out to trick you, you know, Worf," said Cal, wincing just slightly at the irony.

"It is always better to be suspicious then caught unaware," Worf replied.

He said, to the guy who spent fourteen years completely unaware that he wasn't a girl.

Cal's lips twisted a little wryly.

"Maybe," he said. "There could also be a thing as too suspicious, though, Worf."

"To be a warrior and survive it is best to be always vigilant," Worf replied. "It eliminates the element of surprise."

No. He's not paranoid at all. Really.

Cal arched an eyebrow a little. "It doesn't eliminate it completely, you know, no matter how vigilent you are."
